Crappie love live minnows. I’ve learned the best bait is a curly tail swimmer. Unless you’re fishing structure, jigging, you should let your bait swim. I use bobby garlands all the time. Great bait. Just take the cork off and slowly let it swim. Weightless.

Good job yall was definitely in em. My PB in that area was 55 in under an hour. Not all mine I was fishing with my friend. It was 3 or 4 am. The great Ollie canal pumping station. Oh that was also 30 years ago. Lol

Get someone to take you to old river past Morganza and the spillway. go to alligator point drop gig or shiner down about 15 to 20 ft deep and catch realy big ones
