I find Ego Death to be an absolute masterpiece. Rarely has a single song kept me this fascinated to listen to over months and months. Glad you enjoyed as well!

The guitarist you're referring to is Tim Henson. The other guitarist is Scott LePage. They're both good. Edit: Steve Vai at the end.

@@treblelife Yeah, it's very technical playing. I enjoy your videos and lessons (didn't realize I kind of hum to figure out songs, too). Give that drummer a solo, and bassist for that matter!

I love it when the older generation respects and admires the talent of our newer generation instead of just making bitter remarks and hating. I love your videos and i have lots of respect for you

The structure of a good chunk of Polyphia’s music is based on the tried and true Theme and Variation. The theme is established, then the exposition, return to theme, development, etc. I really love how they just take a catchy line, or a traditional descending line or dirge type sound, and then just expand on the idea, inject other concepts but tie it all back into the primary core theme. It’s applying the old baroque and renaissance musical concepts to modern genre and tonality. That’s probably why I enjoy their music so much. That along with the evident mastery of their craft and overall musicianship.

I'm really enjoying your videos, and I'm glad you're using ideas from comments to improve the productuon quality. You have so much knowledge about guitars, and I hope for many more videos in the future!

Your breakdowns are very refreshing and enjoyable. This band in particular... kind of requires studio headphones, though. The ipad doesn't do them justice and you'll be able to catch those really tricky shifts in intonation. In particular in this video... Scottie's really wild arpeggiated fills. Glad to hear you'll be using a monitor in the future and thanks for the solid watch.

I wish my dad was still alive to see and hear these guys’ music. I think he’d have enjoyed the hell out of it. He loved all kinds of music and you could catch him listening to just about anything on any given day, rather than just a genre or two. With all the influences and sounds that these guys incorporate I think he’d have really loved what they do.

great reaction unexpectedly comedic. i hope one day when you grow up you will be able to play like them

As you're already showing us the screen recording, you can move the ipad to a more confortable position so you doesnt need o hold it (and keep it facing the camera hahaha lil tip for helping you make a better content!!)

Love these videos - very interesting to watch. Just a thought - wouldn't it be better to use some headphones or a decent speaker set up? At the end of the day, of course use whatever you prefer, but I can't help but feel like you'll miss countless intricacies in the music across these videos when using speakers from an iPad.

Agreed and our producer finally got me a large monitor to watch! Makes all the difference!

I have to say your demeanor and commentary are great, I’ve been enjoying your videos but holding an ipad to do reviews is lessening the quality of your content . Otherwise your studio and camera set up look great, consider maybe setting up screen in front of you like most KZbinrs.

The weird iPad angle is just so uncomfortable looking. Why wouldn't you just watch it on a proper monitor? Very very odd choice.

all guitarists can ever focus on is chord progression...give it a break
@Erra669 ай бұрын
@@treblelife i'm only saying this because if you're trying to analyze polyphia's music, the chord progression is the last thing you should focus on. they like to use generic pop chord progressions and add their flair over it
