This Basic Technique Paid Off Big Time With Trout & Redfish

Just when you think you have the fish figured out, they inevitably surprise you. Based on my last few trips, I thought deep water was the ticket, but I found a pile of fish in inches of water on this trip. A good reminder to keep an open mind every time you are on the water, regardless of what happened on the last trip or what some dude posts on KZbin (me) lol. I have noticed a pattern lately that the Redfish are biting on rising tides more than falling tide, but the Speckled Trout are biting on rising or falling tide, just as long as it is moving. This could change tomorrow, but just something to think about, especially if you are targeting Redfish

Went out to Hopedale this morning big red 36 inches tagged & released 1/16 jig head soft plastic, yes water was extremely low this morning , glad you got on them

Thanks! I launched at Hopedale Marina. It’s close to Chalmette, Louisiana. I love that place because you can go in all 4 directions from the marina and there’s endless marsh. Learned it from duck hunting years ago but once I realized how good the fishing was, I started leaving the shotgun at home lol.
