Challenger sale pricing and availability: bit.ly/3TVvCpK
Is this an E-bike or a motorcycle? The BeeCool Challenger design is meant to look like a cruiser motorcycle, and it kind of handles like one too. With a battery that looks like a gas tank, ape-style handlebars, a big headlight, and a long massive frame, some people may confuse the Challenger for a motorcycle at first glance.
The Challenger has the largest battery we have ever seen on an electric bike, but it is also the heaviest we have reviewed. It's a fun ebike to ride but it's not going to give you the traditional cycling experience.
In this review, we walk through, go for a ride, and tell you what we love and hate about the BeeCool Challenger.

Hey, this is the guy who bought the bike from you 👋😁. I'm at 400 miles and have some updates lol. All 400 miles are on Denver city streets and trails. 39 miles- realized the grating under the headlight makes it worthless. The grate distorts the light and casts the pattern onto the road. Bought an 8000 lumen bar light and disconnected the stock light so I can still use the back light at night without seeing the grate pattern lol 67 miles- added tannus armor and slime after my 3rd flat, the tubes are really really thin. 131 miles- the front mud guard fell off. 188 miles- rear brakes failed. Checked pads and realized they weren't fully seated over the disk and had worn a groove until they couldn't connect. Got new pads and seated properly. 247 miles- rear mud guard fell off 315 miles- stitching on grips started coming out 346 miles- front brakes failed. Disk bent. Replaced disk. I have done range tests and it gets 30 miles on throttle only, not 40. If you keep it on pas 2 which limits it to 20mph and don't touch the throttle it gets 65 miles range though. Other than that it's been a great ride. It's too cold for me to ride now so I took the battery and back wheel/motor off and brought them inside and the rest of it is on a hook in the garage lol. Will definitely remain in the line up next season though.

That's really cool but I feel like a shunt mod or even a new 2kw hub motor and controller would make this thing a lot better.... Definitely look for better forks, maybe street tires and a good alarm system built into the frame if it's going to be treated like a motorcycle.
@DanLimbach

The 750W version is the only street legal one in most states. Max legal speed is 28mpg, so the 750W is the one if you don't want to get hassled about it being outside of the legal specs. A 2000W motor would not be legal on trails and on streets without registering the vehicle. I prefer a version that is legal on roads and trails, without needing a license, registration, and insurance. But yes, a 2000W motor would really be badass.

I wonder if the battery gets hot on sunny/hot days. Is there ventilation? You can't remove the battery to charge it at an office or in your home. It's also not good to leave the battery in cold weather. So if you are in an area where winters are very cold, you'd have to move the whole ebike inside rather than park it in your garage, or risk damaging the battery.

I hope they address the issues pointed out in the Challenger 2. Also I’d like to see a second 1000w geared hub motor in the front with an extra 30Ah fitted into the crevices in the frame. 15Ah in each crevice gives one 60Ah, and it would be an extra bonus if the Volts were higher, but not a deal breaker.

Nice looking bike. However, ... 1. Seat comfort and height adjustment is important to me (learned that from owning two e-bikes). I've had to purchase aftermarket parts and seat for both. 2. No space for a rear rack is kind of a deal killer for me. For long rides, you want most of your stuff on a rack instead of on your back. 3. They should have made the 'tank' (battery) removable, that's like e-bike 101 for selling points. One of my e-bikes weigh's 90lb. with the battery (thank goodness I don't have to store it where stairs are). As stated in the video this is a major negative selling point for apartment dwellers. 4. Brakes, sound like they should have used the Tektro brand to start out with like other e-bike dealers use.

@@johnw65 Dude, have you've been to NYC? They have a healthy, thriving e-Bike community and nothing but apartments. Obviously, you did not consider dense populated areas like cities. With most e-Bikes, you get what you pay for. I spent months researching each bike I purchased along with others. My advice is don't go cheap...try and save up. Both my e-Bikes accommodate 300+ lb., and my brakes don't "lock up", I'm a big guy. Both of my batteries are removable (which is great if you need to swap). Also, you cannot start my bike up without using the key in a separate start switch. I keep two different locks on both bikes, plus have a motion alarm on them, as well as Apple Air tags. Nothing is 100%, but staying vigilant and always consider the risk when locking it up somewhere for an hour or so goes a long way in prevention. Anyway, thanks for responding and have a bless day! 👍

Looks pretty dope. But it's ridiculous not to have a 52V battery at this point, and it seems to have shit components. They need to try again, and quit skimping. If this appeals to you, get an Ariel RIder X-Class or Grizzly, or a Spark Bandit -- which are also heavy, sturdy, moped-y e-bikes, but way less chintzy.

I own a MadMod Scrambler. I like this bike, but failing to have a banana seat is a big deal. With a long seat, I can bring my kid to school before going to work. With this bike, well, I'd just pass, as it's not functional enough. I can give my kid a ride on my MadMod Scrambler.

Immediate takeaway: frame is too heavy and battery is not removable. Top speed is 33mph which is about the speed of a super 73. Suspension bottoms way out.

Wow, "2 or 3 times heavier"? 106/2 = 53 lbs. Name a full suspension, 1000W30AH bike anywhere weighing 53 lbs or less! Rest of review seemed as critical as possible, so thanks for your opinions. Yes, fenders look flimsy. Seat looks hard. Headlight bolts too long. Battery not removable. Maybe this bike is intended for people with garages? I'd like to see a review on the ANIIOKI AQ177 60AH Stepthru E-Bike w/full suspension, It's $1999 on Amazon and weighs 112 lbs...

@@marktasico most states that I know of require it to be less than 32 mph. Anything more they consider as a full blown motorcycle. I know some people who upgrade their motors to allow them to go up to 60mph but I believe they got it approved and just have it licensed as an electric vehicle now. So basicly if you don’t want to get into trouble, the top speeds will be the tier 3 bikes which still isn’t that bad tbf

Lifetime biker here. I'd get the $1799 - 750W. Upgrade the controller for a $150, tag it as a moped and ride it on city streets... Y'all can have the 20mph bike paths.

The frame looks cool, but you'd probably have a helluva time getting a U-lock around it. Chain locks only. They're currently selling it with a free cargo bag, but I don't see where you'd put it? There's no rack... Not being able to remove the battery and bring it in to a climate-controlled environment is an immediate "No."

Guarantee full throttle riding will only get maybe 20 miles. I have a ride up E- bike with a1400 amp hour battery And at 30 miles an hour I can only get 18 miles out of the bike. It weighs 70 pounds also. So I highly doubt you’re going to get 40 miles. They’re claiming 60 to 90. If you paddle at downhill and never hit the throttle you might be able to get 60 miles, L O L

Yes, it’s last year’s model. 14ah battery step through frame design. It will do 32 miles an hour. But the battery won’t get over 20 miles adjust throttle. All these eBay companies, skateboard and EU seas, all pump up their numbers to make them look the latest and greatest. That E bike you test it also says their oil front shocks, sound like just basic spring loaded. Is there dampening controls on the front forks?
