No. It’s a team effort. She wrote a piece of one song and Pardison Fontaine wrote many other songs on her album including her breakout song Bodak Yellow. Let’s not forget the audio engineers and sound engineers and the entire production team. About 100 people go into making an album. Never 1 person. FYI: when an artist wins a Grammy for their Album, the production team also receives a Grammy. That’s how important the engineers are.

The real star is the one you see. If you can't see it you won't be able to think/imagine it exist. Anyway are you gonna buy an album/song because of the song writing or because of the artist. Are you gonna watch a movie for the script/director or the actors... It's just logic. And of course there's always few exceptions. Like Tarantino for movies and like Sia for songs but if you dont like the actors or the singer it's not gonna matter.

Gwen White Hey I’m just as happy for her as you are. I absolutely don’t think she’s dumb (wasn’t trying to imply that). I love what she’s doing and I want to see her win which is why I made that comment. My comment is not meant to be negative, but realistic. Many celebrities (no matter how smart or well put together they are) have been screwed over because they did not read their contract and depended on other people to do it for them or they are so happy with getting a deal or signed that they just sign the contract. You can’t be naive and think that everyone working around you has your best interest at heart because they are nice to you and they’re helping. They are also trying to get paid. When you are young and new to the industry, it’s very easy for people to take advantage. I wish her all the best and hope that she has the right people working with her. I want sis to win. 😊

@@livewire4519 "Black Girl Magic (#BlackGirlMagic) is a concept and movement that was popularized by CaShawn Thompson in 2013.[1] The concept was born as a way to "celebrate the beauty, power and resilience of black women", as described by Julee Wilson from HuffPost,[2] and to congratulate black women on their accomplishments.[3] Referring to a speech made by Michelle Obama at the Black Girls Rock Awards,[4] Thompson explains that black women around the world persevering despite adversity inspired her to spread the concept of Black Girl Magic.[1] With these women in mind, Thompson created the social media hashtag, clothing campaign, and rallying cry "Black Girl Magic", in the hopes of counteracting negativity society places on black women.[5] Though born online, the movement has inspired many organizations across the world to host events using the title. The movement has also seen celebrity support, as singers Corinne Bailey Rae, Jamila Woods, Janelle Monáe and Solange Knowles have invoked the concept,[6][7][8] and ballerina Misty Copeland and President Barack Obama discussed the idea in an interview with Maya Rhodan for Time and Essence magazines.[9] Since being popularized, the concept has also gained traction in cultural criticism, invoked in analysis of music[10][11] and film.[12] As its usage has grown, the expression has drawn criticism as well as staunch defenders.[5][13]" - Wikipedia.

@antocie5 жыл бұрын
Well I don’t think she is necessarily in the studio with them... a lot of the times when people work together, they have something pre-corded and then sent to an artist... even when artists do features and do a song together, they aren’t ALWAYS in the studio together. Even if she has met Beyoncé or Cardi, if they only had a brief moment around her, I could understand them not feeling obligated to follow her back as no relationship was necessarily formed and again, it was all of 5 seconds. But I’m thinking she pre-records and then they send it to the artist and then Beyoncé or Cardi copies the lyrics/flow while putting their own personal spin on it.
@antocie5 жыл бұрын
I have a old close girl friend from grade school who did a feature for Fabulous on one of his mixtapes just like 4 years ago maybe.. and she was never in the studio with him. She was played record then recorded over it and then they sent it back to him. And it’s on his tape. She didn’t meet him. And they sent her a couple thousand dollars check and that was it.

“I’m glad this is coming out” as if this was an exposé or something lmfao. Are you friends with all your colleagues? You follow them? Most songwriters you don’t hear about. Damn, why you make this girl out to be some basement slave? She grinding, working hard, and gaining recognition for her work amongst HER PEERS. Who gives a shit if Sue Ellen from Idaho heard of her? That’s now the songwriting business gtfo
