I wouldn't call that a huge hedge. I've cut a privet hedge that was 16 feet high, 8 feet wide and 70 feet long, on sloping ground (side of a hill, actually).

Wow…Sounds like a massive hedge! Good job 👏🏾 How long did it take?

@@MikeTheGardenGuy Bearing in mind that I'm crippled and had no help, and I was working full-time, it took me about a month of working evenings and 4 weekends! It wasn't easy climbing step ladders whilst trying to balance on crutches and trying to hold electric hedge trimmers and having secateurs in my pocket! Looking back, I don't know how I managed it, and I nearly came a cropper a number of times. Being almost at retirement age and having no help was a real challenge but I managed it in the end.

@@missprimproper1022 Wow…Thats crazy! I can’t believe you got it done. Good on you! Climbing step ladders on crutches is madness. Glad you didn’t hurt yourself and got the job done. Do you want a job??? lol

@@MikeTheGardenGuy Thankfully I'm retired now but I've been a keen gardener since the age of 6. I used to grow vegetables for my mother and 6 siblings, so I've always been digging and doing manual labour. I even used to grow cucumbers on the top of our concrete air-raid shelter (a relic from WWII) and butter beans and tomatoes up the side of the air-raid shelter. I've always helped my neighbours with their gardens, and still do, although I am a lot slower these days. They're all in their 90's now so see me as a "youngster", lol! We British are nothing if not eccentric!

Wow! I don't think I've ever heard of someone growing cucumbers, beans and tomatoes on an air-raid shelter. You should write a book about your gardening experiences! It's great that you're still helping your neighbours with their gardens. I bet that is what is keep you fit and active. Thank you very much for sharing your stories. That is the best part about having a KZbin channel. I'm also British ( Scouse lol).
