Stays the same. The speed of the bike increases though based on which level pedal assist you’re on. I forgot to mention. So on pedal assist 1 it goes like 13mph, level 2 like 14, level 3 16 mph, 4 20 something, 5 25+ mph depending on your weight

you dont have to pedal. Pedal assist is used for if you still want to pedal the bike like a traditional bike but the motor helps you out more. So you pedal but the motor gives it even more of an extra push to go faster. If you don't want to pedal at all that's what the throttle is for
