Mont Saint Anne is known for their legendary World Cup Course, and while they have no shortage of tech, they also have a whole network of that caters towards more regular riders and families. This video is sponsored by Quebec City Mountain Biking - who brought us out to explore five impressive trail networks. One Region Five centers | Our Itinerary ➡️ www.quebecvelo...
Also Thank you to ‪@franckkirschermtb7196‬ for the being our guide!
Mont Sainte Anne or MSA is one of the most legendary venues on the UCI world cup Circuit. It's been offering lift service mountain biking longer than most bike parks and this is my first time riding here. MSA also have a whole other network of cross country and Enduro trails that I did not get a chance to see or ride. From what I'm told these trails are family friendly and have breathtaking views.

Rode this park on a Giant Trance (trail bike) back in 2019. A local came up to me at the top and said in a very thick Quebec accent "you riding this place on that? good luck my friend". In that moment I knew I was in for it.

from the look of it, the fork is by "Intend BC". It's a small German boutique brand that does very high end stuff. It's an inverted design too.

My hometown! Often people ask me why I don't find Sentiers du Moulin "that" hard...When you've been doing your experience at 15-16 ans riding Tak-Tak, Chomeuse, and 1837 at Mont-Ste-Anne, everything seems easy. MSA take good rider and make then excellent rider. Great riding in the Inuk btw, that one is a nasty bitch when it's soaking wet

Man only you can ride such gnarly terrain so well on a shorter travel trail bike! 💪 I rode black and double-black tech at Mountain Creek on a 140/135 travel bike once, and with my weight (200lbs) the suspension wasnt enough (obviously) and I ended the day with a cracked frame. ... So of course I bought a DH bike since I love riding the jank! 😎

I did a pretty thorough inspection because i thought the same. I wouldn't have been surprised in the least if my downtube/bb was smashed up, but as far as i can tell everything is fine and have been riding the bike since. I replaced the shock, which started leaking oil and you'll see that in the next video so that might have been the noise 🤷‍♂️

Phil, you said in some sections that you were wanting more travel. Are you bottoming out in those sections or is it something else?
@SkillsWithPhil
@SkillsWithPhil Ай бұрын
The suspension just feels firmer on shorter travel bikes, it has to ramp up quicker so that you dont constantly bottom out. So in those moments you start to feel like you are getting bounced around and its harder to maintain composure.

Canyon also has a misleading reputation. You spend thousands on a bike and then a proprietary part breaks and you're left without a bike indefinitely because Canyon doesn't carry spares of their own proprietary parts

Still dont understand why you didn’t bring your enduro rig for your trip. Especially since you’ve been shuttled on many climb. SDM and MSA are proper enduro terrain/trail, and those 3 runs at E47 also… but you knew that already, so was that purposely for being underbike and see how it’s going?
@SkillsWithPhil
@SkillsWithPhil Ай бұрын
I wasn't told i was going to be shuttling. I was under the impression that id be pedaling. I only learned at the destinations that id be shuttled. I selected the most versatile bike i had for climbing and descending. Its not that deep.
@WilliamLevesqueineX
@WilliamLevesqueineX Ай бұрын
Eh, a trail bike is fine for everything at SDM, and not that bad even on the roughest stuff at E47. Sainte-Anne tho for sure terribly underbiked but hey, whats life without a little spice.
