Hey mate, glad your enjoying your riding and going through the tiers in a sensable way. With the corning, get yourself a good set of tyres , start using your body to corner more , get your weight(backside) of the bike, start slowly. youll get used to it. Youll find she will corner better than you think. You wait to you get onto a V4 i have a Tuono, when you open them up its like angels singing. Anyhow enjoy your journey keep it shinny side up and be safe.

It's actually on a new set of rossos. I reckon I've just gotta get used to the extra weight and tyre width, but yeah I'll keep pushing it! Cheers for the tips I'll keep it in mind, safe riding!

I upgraded from an MT03 to a CBR650F, and I like the way the CBR corners a lot more than I did the MT03 despite it being much heavier. Of course mine has a less aggressive riding position than the one in this video. Compared to the MT though, it feels way more stable and planted and conducive to body positioning. The MT03 was so upright I couldn't really lean my body forward into corners, and also it felt like it was always kind of wobbling around because of the lightness and smaller tires. I didn't really realize it until I rode the CBR and then tried the MT again. Of course I was also constantly bouncing the MT off its rev limiter suddenly XD.

Great bike sir! Mine sadly got stolen. You will get used to the cornering. Just get experience and you will gain confidence. I used to rock the Michelin road 6s on it which helped me a lot as well
@gutterrashrides11 ай бұрын
Aw that sucks! I didn't think people would really be stealing these. Yes I'm enjoying the cornering a bit more, only upwards from here. The road 6s look great, will probably get them for my next set. Right now it's running a new rosso 2 up the front and rosso corsa 2 on the rear (not encouraged, I know, but fine for my tame riding style lol)
@nightzin0510 ай бұрын
I mean, I am still at the A1 license, so I can only ride a 125cc, but let me tell you, the difference you've felt in cornering coming to that bike are probably similar to what i've felt coming from a scooter to a 125, damn was it hard to tip in at first. Quite some time has passed and obviously i can corner my 125 waaay faster than my scooter but i've also tried a r3 and I've felt the exact same thing again. As you said, it is just a matter of weight, tire width and bike design in general, you'll for sure get used to it. Be safe and have fun.

hiya, own a 2023 cbr650r , still adjusting to the high revving engine, coming from vfr 800f the bike feels so much lighter, also owned rc 390 which your right with slimmer tyres your cornering is far sharper and much lighter bike. Think the cbr is a great sport bike for the road giving power and much more planted around corners once the bike is over.

The only thing with this bike is how heavy it is. Otherwise it is a great bike. Also trust me on this get a wrs windscreen upgrade for the bike, and a corbin seat makes the bike 100x more comfortable.

Hi@ gutterrash rides. I’m moving to Melbourne Australia soon and I wonder if I can actually get the hang of super bikes since the speed limit is 110 k mph on highway and even mountain roads have more twisties and less straight stretches. Just couldn’t understand how an super bike enthusiast can experience its power in such conditions ( not considering any race tracks ). Great if you could leave any comment on this . Thanks .

Yer I think your right about the weight of the bike making it more hard to corner, I think 650's on up are more highway thrashers personally speaking.
@wobblysauce11 ай бұрын
Also, your weight is less, than the ratio of the bike weight of the other bikes so there is less flickable fell to them, slightly different riding style is required as you go up to around 200kg avg. Riden others and I keep coming back to the 650s

You are right that the wider tires need more planning into the corners, and the transverse 4 cylinder resists any change in direction .
@Knoxvillemoto10 ай бұрын
Honestly it does have alot to do with the design of the bike. My RS660 hesitates to turn in at times and tries to fight you. My panigale V4S just falls right into the corners, despite being 30lbs heavier. I've never ridden a cbr 650r. I had put a deposit down on one as my first bike but eventually it became aparent that it was going to be a very long wait time, and I got the RS660 instead. The inline 4 on the cbr does sound incredible though.

It sounds like you need to get someone who is very accomplished at suspension setup to tune the suspension on your Aprilia. Either that or change your tires to a new pair that are not worn. Fresh tires transform any motorcycle at tip-in.

@@gutterrashridesThe situation with traffic cops in Australia is wildly authoritarian. Random stops. Double demerit points. A crazy learner system where learners have to abide by different rules, like not being allowed to drive with passengers at night and having lower speed limits on the same roads as other traffic. Utter insanity. This is one of the reasons I wouldn’t go back to Australia to live. It’s shameful.

Speaking from a ‘22 cbr600rr, if you can’t figure 8, lock to lock, then it’s probably riding skill that’s keeping you from handling the bike properly. I don’t say this as a knock to you, I say this as I mean you just need to get used to it.
@Qassu7810 ай бұрын
Looking at the specs these new middleweight bikes look actually pretty stupid. That CBR650R has less power and torque than a ten year old CBR600RR and yet it has the wet weight of the 15 year old Fireblade that has almost 100hp more power. I know it's because of tightening emission regulations but still. I feel kind of sad because of the nimble lightweight 600cc class is dying away. Those older 600cc bikes are really thrilling rides and they are there to really eat you alive if you aren't carefull.
@willfischer526310 ай бұрын
Well it’s a 650 ofc it would have less power and torque of a 600
@Qassu7810 ай бұрын
@@willfischer5263 No, it doesn't have less power than 600cc because it's 650cc. If that would be the only difference the 650cc should and would have more power and more torque wich is practically same on both bikes. The difference is in the compression rate and airflow. CBR650R has less compression and less airflow so it produces less torque compared to it's size and that more restricted airflow lowers the RPM of the peak power and also makes it a lot more usable on the low and mid RPM ranges. We're seeing these new middleweight bikes due to tightening emission restrictions in Europe and U.S. "Big Four" is still producing 600cc supersports but they are mostly only sold in Asia or they aren't street legal in other parts of the world, like Yamaha YZF-R6. Apparently Honda has managed to pass E5 emission regulations for CBR600RR too so at least in Europe we might see that bike too on the market. Due to emission regulations and driver's license classifications, the middleweight class of bikes is, at the same time, a mess yet facinating pack of very different approaches to the problem of sporty yet very efficient bike. I'm a child of an era when emissions didn't matter, more was better and everything with two wheels was there just to kill and eat you. Even our unrestricted 125cc bikes had close to 30hp from their factory tuned 2-stroke engines. 😅 That's why I find these new middle class bikes maybe a bit boring. Not because they aren't fine machines wich they are.

Eh, the 650R isn't a substitute for the 600RR. The 600RR makes more power but it's all at the top - you don't get to use much of it when you're commuting, touring or chilling so there are applications where the 650R would be preferred by some

@leoson81947 ай бұрын
I have the cb650f, same engine and I can tell you my bike is much louder than any other liter bikes in my city. Reason for that is that the cat is small and inside the exhaust pipes, whereas all liter bikes after 2014 have a big cat that muffels the sound. Obviously a liter bike will beat a Cb650 in every category except for comfort and price.
