Funny how hesitant Lego is about putting out new molds today, but back then they were just pumping out useless pieces like these all the time
@The_Dinosaur_HereticАй бұрын
They had everything to lose, so they put a lot of effort into new moulds to try and entice people to buy their product. Once people did, LEGO set a precedent for themselves, and had to keep inventing new moulds

@@The_Dinosaur_HereticYeah it’s kinda sad that now that Lego is financially stable so they don’t take any more risks cause they don’t have to

Depends on the theme. Some themes constantly get new molds while others get a lot of reuse.

The pirakka are that specific group of characters. They are called skakdi
@MrCat-zz5eoАй бұрын
Plus Piraka's kinda a slur in-universe. The closest we can get to it being translated is "thugs, brutes, and killers." ...which is why Nektann (the blue Skakdi featured in BIONICLE Stars) being marketed as one kinda feels _off_ when you actually look at the lore. Edit: Huh, Greg Farshtey actually addressed this in a BZPower post! Apparently, Nektann was branded as a Piraka for siding with Makuta. ...yeah that scans. He's worse than a thug, a brute, or a murderer - *he's a damn quisling.*

“THOK the other piraka” -Vezon, probably

To my fellow builders, the mask are easy to use on a mock, mostly a villain mock. For effect get lego chains run them though the eye holes, and attach them to your creations body like for shoulder pads, or if your mock is big enough make them into a belt either around the waist or across the chest their trophies of your mocks vanquish foes. If you don't have a chain try earth color tones of twine that way it could pass off as a rope.

Just so you know, it's MOC (My Own Creation), not mock. But those are some definitely cool ideas!

I actually have a MOC that uses the zaktaan canister mask! You can somewhat squeeze a piraka head into it and the "cheeks" of the mask will hold the mask semi-secure, kind of like the G2 masks.
@CloneCommanderCrater1102Ай бұрын
2:56 Maybe it's based on an earlier concept design thet got far enough into production that it was too late to change even though the actual figure was changed? I don't really know, but stuff like that happens all the time, so that's my theory.
@zg66613Ай бұрын
possible that canister mask and canister itself were outsourced. so no precise connections on mask. and it was done in advance and avok design and color was changed later.

I use the kongu mahri brain and some technic connectors and liftarms with axles to put these on piraka or metru heads. The clips in the masks fit in axle holes.

I've see a few people use this for custom built heads

5:01 or even half an axle hole like the slizer hand piece, thus save on plastic, keep the design intact and like with the og masks make it easier to pull them off.
