Ben, you do you and what you enjoy 👍 I just wanted to take a minute to say how much I enjoyed this video. I've been watching for a few years now and I feel like this video was close to what I "fell in love" watching on your channel. Keep catching them! I like watching your videos and my son (now 5 years old) and I have been watching together for the past 2 years. Love it man!

Thanks for the tip Ben. I used a tool for picking out birds nests I got at bass pro shop, but you could use a sewing needle with a large eye, a thin wire from a bread tye or anything pretty much to pull the strands of silicon skirt thew! I also modified a couple flukes using the same concept, and they got bit on like the 1st cast!...FishOn....jimi

I saw a Japanese angler do the same thing with a depps bull flat. Or whatever the hell it's called, he cut it up into squares, and did exactly what you did and he had some kind of a needle or possibly a piece of wire with a loop on it and just pulled silicone strands through it and was catching the shit out of them. I tried the same thing with the same success.. but I wound up using believe it or not strike King ocho because they're really heavy salted baits. I cut him up about the same size that you did and pulled some silicone strands through it with a big ass sewing needle, now I will for sure cut up a spinnerbait, I've got a night blade that's rusted from hell, she'll do just fine! Thanks for the idea on that.. I was using a 1/0 owner grip pin straight shank. And was catching the piss out of them!! This was just two weeks.. maybe I should strap a GoPro to my chest😂😂. If there was a way to insert picture in these comments you should see all the dead soldiers in the bed of my truck because I tried it at a pond on our farm before I went to the lake with it. But I skipped dock's all day long the other day using the ocho with silicone strands, cut up about 3"-4" sizes.. and caught the hell out of some spotted bass! Stay safe you MFR 😎✌️🫰

Reinforces my belief that northern smallmouth are some of the angriest and dumb fish that swim. I’ll still end up trying this in Tennessee but have low expectations it will be effective.
@joeparlante7721
@joeparlante7721 Жыл бұрын
Angry yes, dumb hardly. Many of these Lake Champlain smallies have never seen an artificial bait before and just can't resist. I'm sure fishing in Tennessee 10-12 months of the year will make it more difficult because of the pressure. You should make the trip up north this time of the year, it will be some of the best fishing you've ever had.
