I have a friend who is deaf…I might get this for him just so he can see by the puffs if someone is talking behind him or some other noise is happening. Sometimes people come into the room and startle him, or the dog is barking to go out and he doesn’t notice right away. Edit: typo

This isn't necessarily a humidifier but more so a diffuser.

It's at best for at the desk or on the end table kind of dinky humidifier. It will only do a minor amount of adding moisture to the air. If you want an all day kind of humidifier that will put a good amount of moisture then get a Levoit brand or similar that have a capacity of 2-2.5 liters of water. Those go for $20-$40. The Levoit is ideal because they do support their products and the 2.5 liter capacity one will go a full complete day and easy to refill from the top.

If they rebranded this as, "Sponge Bob's Dancing Jellyfish" humidifier, they would probably sell thousands more of them! The "jellyfish" seem to be produced by miniature vortex generators. A fun item, but not really much of an actual humidifier.

One thing to note - use filtered water with these things - it will get clogged by mold (or whatever that gross build up is from normal water use) build up over time as with any humidifier.

Looks impressive Note!!! If it’s a cool mist you need to use distilled water or it will leave a fine powder of minerals like calcium and lime. It’s very bad to breathe tap water dust made by a cool mist humidifier . . . Especially if you have a sleep apnea machine.

It doesn't hold enough water to be an effective humidifier, so I think it's mostly for show. And I wouldn't want that kind of misting, especially if you have hard water or electronics in the room.

With that small amount of water,i doubt it'll last until 8 hours. I have 300ml of diffuser cup here at most will work for around 4 hours only. But still, it's good as gift for someone who like this kind of thing. The voice and music activation features are quite impressive actually.

I’m just as impressed as you were! It’s very cool indeed. When the 6 oz of water is emptied, does it automatically shut off to protect it? Also, I’m curious if you’ve done any side by side comparisons of Temu vs. Amazon or other Chinese products. I’ve never bought from them, other than this device, is any of their stuff any good? Humidifier... not so good. But it would be a blast at parties. 😆 It's better as a special effect. If you want to humidify, set it to the one that comes out the middle. Even so, it would only be good for small apartments.

A while back, thanks to physics girl, I became obsessed with Vortex Rings. I made a couple homemade cannons, then bought one. Then I bought a smoke machine. Super fun. Then I saw an ad for one of these touted as a “Volcano”. It just has the center hole. I work at Mt St Helens with kids, and I put it out on one of the tables and the students absolutely love the thing (adults too) I guess I have to buy this one to join it. The way the volcano one worked, when it shot the ring out the center, it also puffed a little “steam” out the side of the rim… around the “base” of the “volcano”… (the rim around the top) this created an issue where if you had it running for a while, you’d get condensation on the table it was on as it would puff out, and fall down onto the table instead of going up into the air. (Obviously the center ring would go into the air just fine)

Yes, especially on the fountain mode. But this is more than enough moisture for a room. Any more and mold will grow on your walls.

8:00 I know this is stupid and paranoid, but when I was younger, I used to do this sort of chest beating as well, and it landed me in the hospital with an irregular heart beat. It was pretty severe and I caused rhythm and pace damage to my heart that took over a year to clear. I am sure I was more sensitive cause I was around 10-12, but still, seeing others do this worries me It caused severe echo beats in my heart that would come on in fits of palpitations for sometimes over an hour. I forgot what the actual diagnosis was, but it was like cardio ghosting or something? They told me it was the impact on my heart disrupting the natural rhythm of my hearts pace. I stopped beating on my chest and instead started doing it with my thumb on my hip or collar bone, and it went away over time

That's more of an essential oil diffuser. A true humidifier needs MUCH more water! I recommend getting a steam humidifier. Cool mist humidifiers aren't as hygienic. Unless you're going for some kind of whole house system. I don't know anything about those.

Can it also be used with water soluble essential "oils" ( a few drops in the water) like regular ultrasonic aroma diffusers? They use the exact same ultrasonic vaporiser technology... So not only do they look nice, they smell nice, as well. I have a mains powered one (it has a down converter/adapter - to 21 V/DC) and a USB powered one.

A tip for everyone out there: Basically any product that you own like this that uses water is better served with de-ionized water. The device will last longer and often perform better. This includes your clothing iron. You won't get any of that crusty scale build up that causes problems. The jellyfish might even look better.
