This is why I love this channel. Who else of the big car KZbinrs cover more unusual cars like this. We've all seen Performante's, Bentayga's and 911's, but a 90s fast estate is something else.

10:00 *EDC:* This stands for "Elektronische Dämpfer Control". In "P" mode the car will recognise if you're driving normally or throwing it about. If you start doing the latter it will automatically switch in to "S" (Sport" mode) i.e. with a stiffer damper setting without you having to manually invoke it.

Funny thing is my dad and I were talking about how fast cars are now (well sporty cars) after getting blasted by an f-type r - he had a 1987 Porsche 911 Carreras for 20 years. He sold it 4/5 years ago. He never replaced it - his a4 Quattro avant was just as fast in pure terms (0-60 in 6.6 seconds, faster point to point) - but nowhere near as involving. Both of us would take the older option and spend the change on something outrageous for the track thanks!

I used to call my mom's X3 the loaf of bread, because that's the most descriptive term I've found to describe the post electronic steering X3 beemers. First gen X1 Xdrive35i M Sport is where it's at. The MOST unassuming sleeper I've ever encountered that is generally driven by middle class soccer moms, and hands down best car my moms ever owned and driven. Still waiting for the day I can afford and am crazy enough to bite the bullet of BMW ownership and running costs.

Nice! Very classic looking, but still modern enough, sounds quite fruity too. (8:10 to 8:30) However, given how popular it is with the car community, I think the E60 M5 Touring will have more icon status, because not as many people know about this as they do the E60. Top Gear driven it, Tiff Needell made a great review of it, both the saloon version. But Fith Gear did do a E60 M5 Touring “Race to Valencia” review.

2 wing mirror glasses got taken off a new RS6 and wires cut. Although a wiring repair may have been possible... A proper repair would need a wing mirror loom which came with new mirrors. AND the glass was auto dimming & heated... Total proper repair was over £1,000

Hey Sam, I know you were mentioning about the video not doing as well as you expected (and maybe it being to do with it being an older car) on the podcast. My two cents: the video took a long time to get going with a lot of admin and updates at the beginning. My feel is that its paced a bit slow and the m5 is just an ending rather than the topic of the video. Not sure if you were trying to stretch out or something but thats my feeling, I was interested in the my but nearly clicked away tbh.
