I've listened to this book six times on Audible. I get something new every time I listen. I'm thrilled to find a contemporary review of it! Bookmarking this to come back and hear what you got out of it.

recently joined a new grappling gym and the instructor starts each lesson with 1 task. This week was "I want you to get into half guard and both players keep a straight back, go". That was it. Then the lesson built from there. Pretty reinvigorating to have a structure like this but aligns (now i think of it) with some of the stuff you talked about in that book.

I read it this year, such a disappointment. It mostly goes over his personal story. Which I guess is cool, but I needed something more useful

Appreciate you letting me know. I understand what you're saying about the book: the first time I read it I don't think I got much from it either, it's got a very zen sort of vibe to it that's quite off-putting. Reading it after a lot more practice I got more from it, which is kind of why I made the video. All the best with whatever you're doing!

Man, Joel you got a hard job lol. One video where someone dislikes your book and they leave. P.S. how's the piano going?

@@zacharyspencer2285 Pretty well thanks! And I can't complain too much, it's not even my job (yet) I'm just doing it for a cool creative outlet. Did you see the new piano vid?
