The recently deceased Fernando Sánchez Dragó had a total of 100000 books in his personal library in his house. Arturo Pérez Reverte, Spanish journalist and writer, has a collection of 32000 books (as of 2021) and is constantly increasing it. Already in the early 16th century, Hernando Colón (Ferdinand Columbus, as he's known in english), second son of Cristóbal Colon (Christopher Columbus), accumulated a library of 15300 books. And I won't compare them to earlier libraries, like Library of Alexandria, the Library of Pergamus, or the Library of Al-Hakam II of Cordoba, because those were part of a state endeavour.
