Very enjoyable video, Jules! I bought some of my magazine collection through Abe Books. I usually only used it when I was tracking down individual hard to find issues because, as you mentioned, it can be quite expensive compared to Ebay.

Thanks Tom, I've used it a lot for books, never for magazines though. Hope you're well.🙂

When looking at books older classics in general what does print impression 4, 9, 13th vs book club edition when looking for a 1st print?
@JulesBurt2 жыл бұрын
It would mean they are reprints. You either need the book to have printed 1st edition and nothing else or a row of numbers with 1 being the lowest. Book clubs are cheaper editions released after the normal hardback.

ABE prices are so overpriced, that I question if there isn’t illegal activity going on

It's funny, more than one person has said the same.....suspicions of money laundering...

id love to be a book collector but I still live with my parents wont let me have books lying all over the place and I only have one book drawer because we don't have room in out house for book shelve and my mum only allows me to buy 41 books at a time and my book drawer only holds 41 books, I can only read one at a time and it usually takes me a month to get through one book, my parents are 72 and dad 74 so hopefully I can follow my dream and collect the books well by the time there 100 or less whenever ill plb be in my 50s or 70 yr old by the time I can get to do that, I guess that is still young? but till then ill have to either dump them or give them to charity shops and librarys.

You can start at any age, just concentrate on buying the books you enjoy reading.

Facsimile dustjackets? Interesting. Personally, I'd rather have no jacket at all, but I suppose if you buy facsimile jackets you won't have to worry about paying a premium for a real jacket that turns out to be a fake.
@JulesBurt Жыл бұрын
True, it's a personal choice I think. I like them if they are well printed. The company in San Francisco is very good and they're facsimiles are marked as such, so no confusion 👍
