It's apparently worth $500. Asking price is not "worth." His auction win was the highest paid for an undrilled one in the last 3 years on eBay. Drilled, they go for about $150.

@@220avg If you use ebays terapeak research feature in the seller hub you can see back 3 years but won't show the full listing, just the result and maybe a photo. I searched for Mikasa bowling ball and sorted by highest sold price. 5/3/22 a clear orange sold for $149 + s/h. You can't see the full listing but you can zoom in on the photo. Ball has two sets of plug marks.

You cannot drill a Mikasa by hand. Even with a drill press you will need to drill it under water. It breaks drill bits.

how do bowling companies not have an option for this? Guitars have "custom shop" editions where you can get anything done. All they would have to do is use an existing mold and put different colors in it. And for that money? So worth it for them. I guess the PBA would hate them for that, but serial numbers exist?

I know a guy and his step son in Vacaville that each had one drilled up for use as their spare ball. I think it was the standard green and orange one though.

Would love to see you throw an Ebonite Clear Wolf from the mid 90s. I had 2, one dull drilled for early roll and one that was a marble drilled to go forever. Yeah, I know they were plastic. But oil was expensive and bowling alleys didn't like to use it in the 90s. That Mikasa hits like a train.

This is why Gem Tech was such an awesome ball, they had cool looking colored see thru balls, with weight blocks inside. Why drill a plastic ball with no weight block? You may as well leave it as decoration in your home. I wouldnt have thrown it even undrilled as it can only get nicks from wear and tear and then it wont looks as marvelous with light behind it.

Drilling it would only cause you to compromise the surface and ruin it(Plastic starts to chip and crack around drilled holes... save it and don't drill it.
