definitely! personally i don’t see a problem w it if it was my wedding i know some people would think differently and that’s totally fine people go into it expecting it to be their last wedding. but typically the flower toss is typically one of the last things to happen at a wedding before the couple leaves. i’d still be absolutely ticked off though if it wasn’t cleared by me and groom.

I’ve heard of it happening more than once (I even saw it happen at a wedding I was at) where the bride and groom were not involved or informed and someone proposed during their reception and it was incredibly rude and the bride was PISSED.

And people who are saying "don't do this at someone else's wedding", these scenarios are usually, if not always PLANNED IN ADVANCE BY THE BRIDE AND GROOM AND "PROPOSER". This was the best way to word it because like yeah the moment was sweet but the narrator made it sound like the bride (and presumably her groom) were the best for not being "selfish" when it's like... yeah it's their wedding, they can choose to want the day they paid for and set up to be about their love and that doesn't make them bad guys or unreasonably selfish.

I disagree. I couldn’t imagine not letting a friend our cousin getting proposed to if they asked me first. It has to be planned. They clearly showed respect by asking and for me, I wouldn’t mind sharing the spotlight at all. Actually, I would love that and prefer it. The more the merrier and make for an unforgettable night between the wife and cousin/friend too! Some people are too self absorbed. Even at their own weddings but I understand if a bride and groomed declined others to propose at their wedding. I just wouldn’t be that type and don’t see why more can’t be as open to that.

This type of scenario should be shamed. I understand that it’s her cousin but proposing at someone’s wedding is the laziest, most tactless way to ask someone to be your partner. Not only does it upstage a wedding someone spent thousands of dollars on, its also less sentimental for the couple and forces the fiancé to say yes since it’s in front of a large crowd. I wouldn’t blame someone who rejected this event from happening at their wedding.

As long as the bride and groom is in on it like here, absolutely go for it. There's so incredibly many stories on Reddit of the opposite and many with bridal party revenge on the spotlight hoggers. If permission is given, you're golden. Repay the selfless act with bringing the spotlight back to the bride and groom when you've had your moment, at least try so there's less chance of any regrets.
