Yeah, actually the "of course I will" bit is not only from the manga, and anime, but one of the most, if not, THE most iconic scene and line in the first "seasons" of the anime. If you watch the scene from the anime and compare it to the one in the live action you'll see it was beautifully done. I was happy with it.

The amnga gives us a question corner, cover stories, cover pages and other stuff... all the jolly rogers for each individual member as well as different enemies were given to us in the manga... they are "official" if that is the word we want to use...

you didn't see jimbei, he appears 2 arcs after thriller bark, it's like 400+ episodes, you are getting close, and hachi the octopus is really relevant, but i guess there was no way to make him without full on cgi, so they cut him off, i didn't like that either, other thing i didn't like was removing the pinwheel from the guy who took care of nami and giving that to her mother making it with tangerine, the pinwheel is such a symbol of how much he cares for nami and nojiko, they broke the connection between him and the girls.

yeah same exact feeling, the help me scene was perfect but that loud "of course I will" was kinda cringe and corny should have either just placed the hat and left without saying anything or as you said only of course I will in the normal tone would have been enough , but its not a show or episode killer its just a bit cringy , I have seen way worse tho so it is fine

Great reaction as always! I kinda sad they cut Nami throwing sand and yelling at Luffy to leave. I guess they couldnt make that type of shot believable. And people saying Luffy scream was the same as in the anime and manga, but I think it's different bacause of 2 things. In anime you can hear him taking a big breath to scream his lungs out, which I think is a great detail, and second - he only says it one time, so audience have no clue what this mf is about to scream, which adds weight to the phrase "Of course I will", because of course he will, he letting the world know by screaming it. Show is great and I love it , so Im just knitpicking to get it out of my system. 😂

What really bummed me out about the episode is tha Namis sister and village don't secretly know about the deal and actually hate her. I mean the reason her sister got the tattoo she has in the first place was as a show of support when Nami had to get the arlong tattoo. I feel this robs the arc of one of its defining emotional moments. It's my main complaint about the series tbh.

In the anime, the scene with Nami lasts a bit longer. Nami is basically trying to push Luffy away and make him leave while Luffy remains silent. Luffy doesn’t say a word until Nami had asked for help and he walks away and then screams “Of course I will” once. Saying it once at the top of his lungs after remaining silent is a big part of what makes the scene. I just don’t understand why they didn’t do it the same way. It feels like a director who never read One Piece somehow thought it would be better this way or they let Inaki make this decision. But saying it 3 times kind of ruins the scene for me. These moments are what makes One Piece incredible and make people rewatch. It’s insane to me that they don’t just stick to the script of the original for such a big scene like this.
