This is my daily driver since November 2021. Two-must mods: Flashing a 45W or even a 50W VBIOS for a 7-10% fps improvement, and also cap the CPU TDP using AATU or RyzenAdj or Ryzen Controller, I've found that at even 9-10W of CPU TDP all games run absolutely fine with no dropped frames or stutters. The panel refresh rate is only 60hz so also you can try to limit FPS to 60 to further reduce GPU stress (doesn't make any sense to render 110 or 120 frames when the monitor refresh rate can't keep up to show the actual rendered frames). Finally, this small 14" screen is pretty forgiving so you can try to game at 900p most games. Using these settings my Swift X can play or convert/upscale videos all day long with CPU temps on the high 60's low 70s and GPU temps on the high 60s ALL Day LONG!

@@M4rio21 I don't think so. If the CPU is hitting very high clock speeds while maintaining 98 degrees, then the CPU is doing just fine and isn't thermal throttling. it seems to be very normal for this laptop.

@@kaishajacobye Yes you are right, those temps are fine, but it makes me cringe. My laptop used to hit those temps and it would boost pretty high too. The repaste I did with some Noctua thermal paste improved temps.

Nope, laptop cpu is meant to run at high temperatures. Even though above 90 is a bit worrying, that is not a major problem. Repaste and lift the laptop a bit

I started playing games on the Atari and the commodore 64... 4k gaming or even 1080p is kinda lost on me. I have owned this laptop for about a year. I got it on sale for 800$ shipped. I have never had a single issue with it. I haven't updated the bios or done anything special with it. It plays Elden ring, Elder scrolls online, Red Dead 2, Elite Dangerous, Starcraft, World of Warcraft, Skyrim, and Fallout 76 beautifully. I boots quickly, is fast and snappy, its light weight and durable. I just got a ASUS ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition that I really didnt need. The Acer swift can do everything the ROG does, just at lower graphics settings.

the reason the ram was 4266 is because the ram is lpddr4x which is faster than normal ddr4 ram

yeah they increased the price now, ebay has the cheapest at $880, but it is refurbished and that is not a good deal. Back in 2020, my friend got a new Acer Nitro 5 with an RTX 2060 for $700. It was a best buy deal and it was new. Now there is inflation, but with 10% inflation the price should still be $770 with the same demand. Edit: and the technology is older now, so the 2060 would go for lower, but the 2060 is still comparable to the 3050 ti,

thats not gaming laptop. Tilt the screen bit backward and it will raise the case for cooling.. Swift X is great machine for the money bsc it is light and portable and the screen is good enough for more than just gaming..3050TI is 35W only and any 3050 Nitro will be faster for gaming when plugged in at least.

Be careful at that price point. Manf usually make some compromises to hit that with a “gaming” dedicated gpu. It might be very worth it to spend $900 on good quality. Laptops are forever. Can’t upgrade parts usually you are stuck with what u get. Good luck!
