I run this mostly on streets since the x1 doesn't tank the fps at all unlike other variable zoom optics, since for those even on the "x1" setting it still renders another version of the scene and overlays it on the optic tanking like 20fps

The so called vignette is actually the eyebox, it is better now since the recoil change because your eye stays more inline with the scope since your gun pivot at the stock when shooting, before your gun pivot at the pistol grip, making the nose of the gun pitch more, therefore making your character's eye not centered with the tube of the optic, which is why prism sights (ex. Ps320, elcan) was not popular before since bsg modelled the disadvantages these scope has conpared to lpvos (vudu, vortex), in short imagine looking through tube from home depot, the better your scope's eyebox the more you can move your head around without the front of the tube covering the target image. Second, the "floatiness" it's called parallax, which describe how does the optic reticle "move" when you are not looking perfectly straight through it such as when moving or when your gun is recoiling, i can't fully explain it so, I reccomend going to 4:50 of "The Trijicon MRO is the worst Red Dot on the Market" by Hop on youtube to see the effect for yourself. Just wanted to point it out to TMP if he ever see this (prob never)

Maybe it's because I started Tarkov in the days of instant ADS canted sights but I always run the Trihawk and a canted delta point or burris weaver. There's just something nostalgic for me about running a canted sight that I absolutely love, and it helps that it comes out to like 40-50k for a long range and close range option which is insanely cheap

The ADO reflex sight on top has a weird sensitivity though otherwise it would be perfect. You can pop on a canted sight though to use instead and its a good optic choice.

Another thing, if you middle mouse button while ADS, line up your camera centered, enter your inventory while holding aim when zoomed out, you can use the 3x as a 1x and that’s for any scope. Still adds magnification, looks cool, works.

@@v4lhulme I use this method to have my head lower when I shoot. It significantly reduces my face hitbox. The reticle is centered and stays higher on my screen. I would say tanking shots with my helmet increased by about 15% - 20%.

Idk if this is part of the "floatiness" you were talking about, but I find the holo and magnifier to not align the reticle when shooting full auto. When I magdump inside the hideout I can clearly see my bullets going towards the bottom of the reticle, rather than were the reticle is actually at.

I'm surprised no one mentioned the Schmitt and Bender 34mm 3x -12x. It is an incredible optic for woods, shoreline, and lighthouse. I would mainly recommend it on a DMR or Bolty though as the scope covers block the canted sights. The scope has amazing FOV while zoomed in particularly on the left shoulder.

Just to highlight your first point about the advantage of having the EOTech as your 1x option versus the 1x settings for variable scopes, another reason you’d see an advantage with the EOTech is because it’s a true 1x instead of a 1x scope setting and with the latter, when you ADS even in the 1x setting of variable scopes, your in-game fps sees a little bit of a dip. Idk what exactly causes that and I don’t necessarily think that’s a tarkov-exclusive issue but if you’re someone like me who’s PC is a bit old and can only get 60-90 fps typically with some stuttering here and there, not having that extra little fps drop could be something to think about

Have you tried this optic when using the locked FoV "bug" where you ADS, free look, center the scope in the freelook, and then open the console? A lot of scopes look and feel better to me when doing this, especially this holo and the TAC-30.

since the Eotech HHS-1 doesn't use picture in picture (PIP) in the unmagnified state, it really saves your PC because your PC doesn't have to render a second version of the game, zoomed in. Every magnified optic has this issue, even LPVOs on 1x zoom. I have noticed a weird issue with the HHS-1 especially on bullpups or guns with large height over bore issues. The point of aim and the point of impact on sprays is WAY off, more so than expected with the height over bore. If BSG were to change LPVOs to not use picture in picture I think they would be much better. LPVOs in real life are usually pretty far from a true 1x unless you buy a premium scope.

The HAMR + Delta point either on top or on a 45 mount has been putting in work for me this wipe. The reticle isn't the best, but acceptable for the price. Height over bore also doesn't seem to be as large of an issue since the recoil rework either, can still see what you are shooting at

So you missed a major bug about the eotech magnifier: the red dot shakes in zoom mode....a lot. Like the actual red display will just vibrate around. It's not every raid but it's often enough that I stopped using it because having a vibrating reticle is awful.

it most certainly is. the reticle literally vibrates and moves. Not the optic, the RETICLE. It's not a view thing, and its not something its meant to emulate otherwise the eotech would be a piece of garbage. It's an obvious bug where the red circle and dots are literally shaking while the optic/weapon remain still/sway. Canted Burris red dot with the acog used to be my go to budget option, now you're gonna have to dish out around 50k which is still a respectable prize. The setup has it's quirks but they are consistent and therefore learnable.

You should try the AK dovetail NPZ 1P78 2.8x scope. It has all the advantages you've listed for the Trihawk and Prism with a super low price and clean profile. Only disadvantage it has is that is has a somewhat bigger ergo penalty (without the eye cup), has no illuminated reticle (not a huge deal) and onlu mounts on AK dovetails. But its super under rated for what it is. I've been running it a lot for midrange builds.

I actually have the Tango1-6 on my competition AK and I love the lpvo IRL. Have yet to actually run it in Tarkov, but other than the reticle being too small, it looks pretty well replicated in the game.

I've been running the Monstrum with a packup canted sight on nearly all of my gun loadouts. The reduced recoil this patch made the canted sight so much crips/less bouncy (even on full auto weapons). Having great success with it on the AK SU and Adar/TX 15.

I also play woods when i need to but probably less than half the raids on customs. I had more than a few raids with the HHS this wipe and I thoroughly enjoyed using it on the 556 MDR. It's still wonky and shakes when zoomed in though, but it's definitely usable with the recoil changes. If they fixed this sight permanently I would literally never use anything else. I would also strongly prefer the single dot reticle, as opposed to the three dotted version.

The black ring you see inside your scope when magnified could be the game simulating real life by you not looking through the scope correctly. meaning you may have the weapon tilted slightly.

@@DamageJackyl this is my first wipe. Everything is mostly centered around real shit. You have a full backpack you get gasses faster. You get shot you need to heal. Why wouldn't having shadowing in a scope be just the same? I'm not making excuses or letting anyone off the hook. My comment was based solely off the fact if they're trying to add realism to the game then scope shadowing is part of it. You wouldn't just pick up a rifle that has a scope on it, put your face to it and it's magically clear. But you're right maybe it's just a bug and not intentional. You have more time on the game than I do. I'm not even lucky enough to have good optics in the game yet. Lol

The fact you can buy four eclans from peacekeeper on reset has pretty much made me put on lots of things. It comes out to like 41k rubles per sight. There is also the barter from mechanic 2 but that about 80k so at that point you might as well drop a little more and get something at the 100k range.

The large rings on reticle such as the prism, holo, and sig saur tango are meant to be used as a quick target acquisition. It works well if you teach yourself to swing the top of the circle onto people's shoulders instead of the center dot.

@bogdanvino so instead of spending extra time trying to line up the small inner reticle you quickly mouse the big circle over a players chest, it's meant for up close panic shots, engage lizard brain, use big circle

@@bogdanvino It's not really that useful in games, but like randyb4191 said the reason why some optics have those big bright red circles is so that you can get a "good enough" placement of the crosshair on target when speed is really important. In real life you might be surprised by an enemy, and getting your head placed into the sight picture correctly can take too long, so instead you can throw your eye behind the optic, bring the big red circle over the enemy and fire. Hitting someone just once is typically going to be so painful that it can really sway the outcome of the engagement, even if that isn't the most accurate way to fire. In Tarkov, all of this doesn't really apply, so it's typically seen as a hindrance more than a benefit. Your PMC always smoothy transitions the optic to your eye with a clear sight picture, even when he does it quickly with high ergonomics. You can still make some use of it, but it's not nearly as useful or effective. I will say though, in the rare case that you get hit in the head and have a contusion, trying to see the right crosshair among all the fine markings when you're seeing double or triple is really hard. Having a big ass "shoot here" circle can be nice in those rare situations.

I would never use this because tge floatyness throws off my aim completely. It's also actually quite expensive for what it is on top of being really heavy. Id rather use the elcan. They have pretty much the same role but elcan is much less floaty and the reticle has much less light bleed. To the point where you can even use it with night vision. Idk, maybe it's just me but I can't endorse this optic over other options for any of it's intended strengths

Inertia and sounds. You cant move as freely which makes people scared to peak. New players and terrible audio. If you could count on sounds and know ok this guy is in this room i heard him moving ALL THE TIME, you wouldnt have that in the back of your head. But we all know the audio sucks so that thought alone prevents people from making quick decisions. Most people suck, knowing they probably wont win with an ego play so theyll just sit and wait until they absolutely have no choice

As much as I want to like your favorite optic, it just feels horrible and that is some massive cope to run it over a normal holo. I wish they would fix it and make the 2x better or add a magnifirer for all optics

I won't run the trihawk without a canted, too much zoom for close fights. I would go with the monstrum instead on the RFB for that reason. Save the trihawk for guns that have room for a 45 degree mount.

I love this sight but bruh I play on a MSI Gf63 thin laptop with 16gb ram and some scopes when I zoom in on the magnification it’ll drop my frames to like 28-37fps :/ it sucks but I love this sight so fuck it

The magnifier on this scope is terrible, countless times where ive put my aim on the enemy's head, shot and it just didnt hit (not a skill issue) this used to be my favorite scope back in the day but its just so inconsistent now, i would love them to add more hybrid scopes tho.
