Rhaenys stayed and did all she could because her mission was to defend Rook's Rest. The Greens had already taken many castles in The Crownlands to the point of essentially controlling the region so she could not just retreat and let them take another without a fight. The Lord of Rook's Rest is also a member of Rhaenyra council so she had to defend it at all costs.

Vhagar - Aemond Vermithor - unclaimed Silverwing - unclaimed Dreamfyre - Haelena Meleys - Rhaenys Caraxes - Daemon Sheepstealer - wild dragon Seasmoke - unclaimed Syrax - Rhaenyra Sunfyre - Aegon II Vermax - Jaecyrs Moondancer - Baela Tessarion - Daeron (Alicent's youngest son, not yet seen)

Pobrecito Sunfire, era el dragón más hermoso que se hubiera visto 😢 Respecto al castillo de Harrenhall, cuando se construyó, Harren el Negro (el dueño original) mandó a matar a los constructores y usar la sangre de ellos como parte de la mezcla del castillo, también cuando Aegon el conquistador llegó a Harrenhall incendió todo junto con las personas que estaban allí porque no quisieron hincar la rodilla, por eso dicen que está embrujado

It's harsh but it's supposed to convey the brutality that we've mostly hear people speculating about. There's also the fact that the dragons are family as much as the factions, and every dragon Vhagar flew against so far was related to her. About Aemond, _I think_ it's supposed to be up in the air whether he was sheating on unsheating his sword when Cole arrived. It would seem like a nice nod to how most of the narrative is like that on paper, leaving it up to each reader.

I think one of the things the adaptation fails at is the tragedy here. You had a good discussion on how awful it is that dragons are killing family members of the Targaryens. But in the book, it’s more about what a tragedy it is that the Targaryens are killing each other. The book focuses on the Green Siblings and the Rhaenyra’s children more. Like it’s legitimately tragic that Aemond and Aegon are fighting their aunt, Rhaenys. Or that Daemon is trying to kill his brother’s sons. Or that Rhaenyra and Aegon are fighting each other, when they are brother and sister.

Right, we know they're family, but we never saw them being very united so it doesn't hit that much on that end.

Wow, it hurt to see Rhaenys die. As you know she was my favorite character. 😢 She died like a warrior Princess though and on her dragon like a Targaryen should. Also, Lucy you were absolutely right about the eggs. Those eggs that were sent to veil along with her children are the very same eggs Denaerys was gifted by Master Illyrio Mopatis. I feel so bad for Shuni as well, I know that really affected her seeing the dragons die. Such a great reaction ladies. 😊

Oh and The Dance of Dragons is the name given to the Targaryen Civil War (between The Blacks and The Greens) - the whole premise of this show. It was the biggest threat to the Targaryen dynasty and greatly weakened House Targaryen.

Cole is the most hated character? Meanwhile, Daemon groomed his niece, murdered his wife, murdered his cousin, choked his 3rd wife, and ordered the murder of a child...😂

We still like him more than Cole lol we've discussed this a lot in our reactions. With Daemon you already know how bad he is from the start, but Cole hides how awful he is until there's no way you don't notice it.
