Thank you to all in Afri. So easy for complacency to set in and we can feel so helpless.

If Russia stops fighting _ there will be no war. *If Ukraine stops fighting _ there will be no Ukraine.* I detest NATO as much as the next man, and yes, their aid to Ukraine is self-interested _ but that doesn’t make them incorrect *EVERY* time. This is one of the few times I agree with them. You say *”Let the talking begin”:* Is AFRI really unaware that the USA + other governments (+ for what it’s worth, Dublin) talk to Russia’s foreign minister (Lavrov), and to Russian ambassadors, *EVERY DAY?* If Putin wanted peace talks he has plenty of ways to say so. The war could end tomorrow if Russian forces went home _ with no damage to Russia itself (unlike all the raped Ukrainian women + stolen Ukrainian children whose families will most likely never see them again).

Thank you Afri. We need a new debate a new narrative which reveals how the lust for political and military power has led us yet again into the worst possible scenario: war. We cannot let this continue, when the vast majority of people in the world just want to live in peace.

Should be compulsory viewing for all government ministers as they flagrantly ignore our constitutional obligation to be peacemakers

All so true - and yet the indifference - or is it powerlessness of the general population is mindboggling. Are we addicted and simply accustomed to war and violence because it''s more exciting - stimulating (like coffee) than humdrum peace, well being, love (like green tea) ???
