Edit: Apologies I said this car is Naturally aspirated, it is not it is turbo charged which you can see during the tests!

I had to use this car for the Manu. Series and it was misery. I was always off the pace and even in slip stream was losing time. I was short shifting but not nearly as much as you are which may have explained the lack of speed but god i have nightmares of this car. I will never use it again haha. Thanks for the video.

It's not NA it's a B56 engine with twin sequential turbo chargers. In the game it classifies correctly as TC (Turbo Charged) The torque curve is really low you don't Rev out the turbo straight six all of the 6 cylinder M cars drive like this.

I think it's the S55 engine in the F82 M4 actually. The B series engine isn't in the M series cars, I thought. The new M4 has the S58 in it for sure

I am exactly the same as you when shifting. As soon as you see the red bar. Used this for the manufacturer series and was great. Only me and one other guy when gt7 had server issues 😂

One of the easiest ways I've found is to take a look at the power curve in the individual cars settings, and look at where the power starts to drop off and adjust your gear changes to shift shortly after that point Eg. The Mclaren f1 gtr race car in the current time trial has the power and torque start to drop off around 6800ish RPM, and therefore you want to shift around 7000rpm or just before the horizontal bar fills up and starts to flash, as going beyond that makes the car accelerate significantly slower compared to just changing gears It's also about trial and error, look at how quickly you're accelerating as you reach the rev limiter, in some cars it's really obvious that you're no longer accelerating as quickly and should change much sooner, but in others not so much and can probably be revved all the way out to the limiter

Regarding fuel, the M4 is far worse than the other Gr.4 cars. In the Sarthe grind, it takes some rather significant fuel saving for it to make 3 laps on fuel. The AI driver has to pit every 2 laps with roughly 75% of the fuel used, and unless weather becomes a big issue, it has to make 3 stops to go 7 laps and thus finishes dead last.

That's because the A.I. is revving the car to the limit, when in reality it should be short shifted

@@tidgney it's all good buddy, you're allowed to make mistakes here and there. All the great content you put out, it's hard to always be perfect. The newer M4 with the S58 version of the engine I've seen making over 1000hp to the wheels on stock internals!!
