Bruce Meyers discusses the first Meyers Manx and world's first fiberglass dune buggy, "Old Red". In addition to it celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2014, "Old Red" becomes the second vehicle to be listed on the National Historic Vehicle Register housed in the Library of Congress.

We don't own a Manx, but we own a '68 Allied bodied dune buggy, and we get more thumbs up and comments on it than any of our other classic cars. It's the most fun we can have in a little 45 hp oddball that can barely make it over 60 mph (we have to do a little work to it). So thank you Bruce for starting the fiberglass dune buggy trend! I wanted to own one since I was a little kid and I hope some day to own an actual Manx as well. We also have an identical buggy to our '68 that's on a '65 pan that is a rolling project.

Well done Mr Meyers - 'Old Red' She's such a beautiful car - As a youngster I always wanted one of these amazing machines - I had a great colection of die cast toy cars - Airfix kits and the like ! - Now with the E- Buggie - The electric buggy I have my sights on one ?... My dad and I built one of these, it's not a Meyers Manx, but a similar design. We recently got it licensed for the road. Holy fuck does it draw attention! I've had random people come up to me at the gas station, pedestrians stop and gawk, others stick their heads out of cars and almost crash.

Well, my first car was a Glaspac Buggy, a brazilian copy of the Meyers. I was 19 year old then. Now I am 64, didn´t lose my hair (sorry, Paul!), and still miss my buggy. So, guess what? I am going to buy one new buggy, "californian style", like we call the look of the Meyers. After watching this video, there´s no other way to go. And I will go driving a buggy!
