@@harrybirchall3308 Doubt it. Commercially available games aren't even remotely accurate enough to provide any meaningful data to F1 teams. Hell, Hamilton himself isn't a fan of their own multi million Pound simulator as it doesn't feel exactly like the real thing ...
@kenkalajdzic3 жыл бұрын
@@harrybirchall3308 I agree it's unprecedented level of info shared - especially because it's current car. I'm just saying that all that data doesn't mean too much because the main limitation is still game's physics engine. It simply can't provide results accurate enough to properly reflect how the car would react in real life. And yes, some people have surely tried it, but probably solely for entertainment purposes and to satisfy curiosity. There's no competitive advantage to be gained here; the team already has better data from their own observations and simulations.

Back in 2006/07, in the beginning of Kubica's career in F1, I remember me and my dad getting interested in this sport and watching races together over the years, with young me not even thinking about being able to drive one of those cars on my pc in any racing game. But here we are, today, we have a car, that this coming weekend might make a history with a first driver to win 8 WDC titles and us bedroom racers can throw this car around in the virtual world. I'm wondering what my dads reaction to this would be, if he hadn't lost to pneumonia 3 weeks ago, I would really love to show this to him.

I think the fact that Mercedes were SO stead fast on getting this car to look, sound and feel as close as possible to the real car is why it's so great. Yes the ability to instantly flick from build to attack would be awesome to make the most of our 4 changes per lap, and yeah it may be easy to drive but so many IRL drivers say these things are so easy to drive since 2017 because of the bulk grip. It does suck that we can't have unique paints for the car, and that does worry me for the full season calendar next year, but if that's the sacrifice we need to make to have this car, then I'm ok with that Now we just wait until Jimmer brings back the Nords lap in this car.................

Looks great. You can almost sense the grip through the video just by how the steering inputs are matching the cars movement. Looks a lot like a real life on board. I was worried this video was gonna be about the new RSS f1 car on AC. Seems like they are suffering from the same problem you mentioned of "artificial grip" where the grip is huge but you don't really feel it.

I feel like this one has mor grip than the rss 2021, just by looking at the vid. Times seem to be the same though. 7:20 that is absolutely insane to watch. I race a LOT of GT3 on Spa and you start braking right about where the kerbs begin, and I mean hard, smash the brakes sort of braking, then when you go through that section you literally have to feather the throttle not to get the rear to step out on a front engine car, that Merc went through it with basically a lift. And GT3 cars are not slow at all... it's truly insane.

another thing, on the top left there is a number that says deploy, the max it can be on is 4. everytime you change the mgu-k deployment during the lap, it goes down by one for each change. meaning you can only change your ers 4 times in one lap, so you have to be strategic with how you do it.
