Cannot believe you're doing a challenge in my local. The waitress who served you is called Tina and although she might come across a bit cold on the video, she's honestly one of the best people you're ever meet. So happy to see a challenge on very local soil after watching for 5 years. We tried this challenge and got about half way through. Food is far more expensive in the UK than the US and our portion sizes are smaller. We pay an absolute fortune for beef compared to near enough everywhere else on the planet... Our welfare standards are higher than that in the EU however.

If there's .453 kilograms in a pound, that means you're getting about 2.2 pounds of beef in a kilogram. That means for approximately the same amount of beef (2.2 pounds), you're spending $10.12 in the U.S., and 5.31 pound sterling in the U.K. If 1 pound sterling is .82 to the USD, that means $10.12 in USD is 8.32 pound sterling, meaning you pay less for the same amount of beef on average in the U.K. by about 3 pound sterling per pound. From what I've been reading that has largely to do with government subsidizing the agricultural market, there being a lot more small farms and competition in Europe than the U.S., and reduced shipping distances in Europe than the U.S.

That's not a bad shout, the best burger I've ever had in my life was in a small quiet pub in Dublin. They dont mess around.
