@priestfan817 ай бұрын
@Tehownilator he was making a point about a company as big as mcdonalds can just flagrantly offer people huge amounts of terrible food with zero oversight or restriction for financial gain. He was already a vegan for ethical and health reasons, so he was the last person to be surprised about fast food being nasty.
@markgrygielewicz80475 ай бұрын
@@priestfan81 But his point was crap; a company can offer you any service, which you, as the consumer, can turn down. Companies don't force you to engage in their services or products. Plus, he lied about how many calories he was eating, claiming that it was around 5'000, even though in any combination from McDonald's menu, the maximum that anyone could make was 3'800 calories for breakfast (no supersize available) and two (2) supersize meals. He also didn't make his food diaries public, or have a second doctor do his blood work and health screening, so his results could not be verified. Plus his long term alcoholism, and the health problems caused by it, was not made public until years later.
@brycepeddicord67633 ай бұрын
@@markgrygielewicz8047I think the bigger picture was people are so animalistic they won't do what's right for them and companies will abuse that knowledge for profit and that should be limited. @@priestfan81McDonalds doesn't force people to eat their food. That's your choice. You can buy bleach which we know we shouldn't drink, but if someone does that's their bad choice not the people who make it. The SuperSize guy chose to drink alcohol 24/7/365. that's worse than fast food.

This was the first interview I have ever seen with Mr. Beard and I have to say this was outstanding. He answered so many questions why he isn't dead right now. lol. The guy knows what he's doing. The fasting, the nutritional food. Mr. Beard and Katrina kilo and Randy as well as most of these other big eaters that eat in family style restaurants are eating great natural healthy food. Just a hell of a lot of it. The ice-cream and candy challenges I do get concerned for them because of the incredibly high sugar dose but otherwise, they all eat great food well prepared by people who care. Wonderful interview.

I remember accidentally overeating at a Chinese buffet, and not only did it give me a small hernia in my stomach, but I actually thought I was gonna die, I don't recall ever being so sick in my life until that moment. Now I'm afraid to overeat, and I'm stuck with this stomach condition as a result. I wasn't even trying to overeat. I guess Chinese food is one of my weaknesses.

The worst food poisoning I ever had was in China. Went to a nice restaurant and ordered American style fried chicken. Threw up for 3 days after that.. Years later I ate some Chinese leftover from dinner, this was about 4:30 AM, was up cramming for an exam. I started itching, my ears were burning, big rash, hives, facial swelling, difficulty breathing. Call 911 quick. Anyway it was anaphylactic shock.. And I almost died. Fortunately another 911 unit showed on scene and they could get an IV on me. Lots of epinephrine later, Benadryl, Pepcid, steroids I survived. Haven't eaten Chinese food since.. Lost some serious weight.. Still miss General Tso's chicken. On a different note.. This event led me to become a paramedic. Unfortunately I've been on a call for chocking cardiac arrest from a food eating challenge. She didn't make it. Be careful my friend. Absolutely love your channel.

I tried a meal with one and it was fiery and a massive, slightly unenjoyable experience, but I thought - how much more can I handle? The next meal contained 5 chillis and I can relate to the numbness and loss of hearing. I now know my absolute limit and actually grow Naga, here in Whitby and enjoy their heat sensibly, cooked into many meals I enjoy. Most of my chilli adventures are now say phaall or jungle curry heat, but Beard's adventures are on another heat level for sure. Daymmmmn.

The way I've always gone about spicy challenges is eating yogurt chutney before I get to the place. Really coats the stomach and help keep the heat down as it makes it way through the body. The LD50 of sugar is 30g/kg of body weight. 2.4kg of sugar for an 80kg person. There's around 1.2kg of sugar in 13 tubs of Ben & Jerry's. So, twice that would have to be ingested all at once, and even then is not a 50/50 chance of a trip to the morgue. You'd probably vomit before being able to get that much in anyhow. The leg cramps were probably from dehydration. That much sugar would make you piss so much that you'd end up dehydrated.

What is not mentioned here is the irreversible damage to the lower esophageal sphincter by gorging on huge quantities of food and stomach acids being brought back up. Eventually, this changes cells in the throat that can cause Barrets Esophagus which is a precancer. Folk can live with it though without it developing into Cancer and some people might have it and might just dismiss it as Gerd or acid reflux.
