The brown residents has about 1500 - 2000 coal. It’s a light brown 2 story with the little spiked fence on the roof. You drop in the basement as soon as you walk in the front door and your on it. But a cop can spawn in there.

If you're still looking for coal, the old west town POI has a bit.... but also any fireplaces with burnt wood can get you a little (like the Jen fetch quest house)

Pretty sure level 2 quests also can give 500 gunpowder. Can't remember if the Bear and Land POI is from the western town or NAVEZGANE, but other than that, the Shotgun Messiah factory has a bunch of coal in the area around the furnace.

This series makes me curious how much coal is at the mine POI. It was never necessary for me to use that coal so I never counted it up.

Some quest rewards can give you like 750 coal or some such, too. Those would be really helpful.

I’m pretty sure you can get a little bit of coal from burned blocks out POI’s like houses and car crashes with the burned zombies. It’s probably not worth the effort but it’s there.

The Serrano house is where I always make my base. I add a garage, heli strip and I get to live in luxury in the desert lol 😂

The abandoned depot remnant POI has a few coal bags that can spawn in it.

I always buy bullet casings from traders because at worst you're paying 3 dukes / bullet casing and at best you use 5 brass to make one so it saves time and money

Sorry I don't know the name of it, but there is a house where you drop down into the basement from the start and iirc there is a large lump of coal in the basement. Any POI that spawns burnt trees would be a good shout as well. I believe the large green house with the chandelier in the entry and the huge hole in the 2nd/3rd floor has burnt trees in the ground.

I guess you would never dare to use it, cause it would make your life too easy, but afaik there are a few mods that allow you to unpack/dismantle ammo to a certain degree. 😅

Without coal as a plentiful resource, would it not make sense to take other ammo types as rewards, to scrap them to make more useful ammo? Or has that been proven not to be viable for ammo crafting?

I think scrapping ammo only gives you brass.

Would it be good to focus on medicine books to have a steady supply of Steroids? I imagine the 10% walkspeed and Debilitation-suppression would be useful? on second thought... desert-bears are kinda rare
