Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year! In this video I am looking back at the year in the garden. Not everything was perfect, but it was definitely fun. Hi I'm just subscribed to your channel goodness gee whiz it touch me profoundly specially after losing my mother this year she was 56 from a brain aneurysm. I will miss the unconditional love from her. She was who I ran to when I needed help and guidance on my life. So I felt so lost I did not know what to do and watching gardening videos on here and working on my garden has helped me find my way back to myself and grounded me so that I do not feel as lost and disconnected from the world as I have been. Thank you for a delightful and inspirational video! Many of my plants came from my mother's garden and are a constant reminder of our shared joy in seeing plants grow. I am going to dream about spring and plan along with you. My seeds arrived this week along with a new tool - a soil blocker the size I saw you use in your video. I am excited to experiment with this new-to-me method of growing 300 seedlings in one tray! Last year I discovered that the seeds of fall flowering plants bloomed the first year they were sown and that spring flowering plants take more patience. They grew the basal leaves and now I anticipate the first blooms this spring!

Two things: 1. I live in a place where it’s not feasible to grow plants during the winter. I always saw it as a waiting period until spring / summer so I could grow my plants, but instead it’s just a DIFFERENT season to grow plants. Valuable insight. 2. The importance of sharing gardening with others. In my life, gardening is primarily my interest and I don’t have anyone else to share it with aside from a simple “oh that’s nice”. The community aspect really makes it a conversation topic, a bonding topic, and something much deeper than just growing plants. Wishing you health and a happy 2025 for both you and your mum

I am in northern Indiana and this year I got going in the warm snap back in January/February. I had a snafu with the garden notes app I was using not working with a phone update, so I shifted all my notes to a new Google sheets. I realized my notes really weren't great. I did a little here and there, but it had lost most of the photos, and I didnt always remember. Ive taken so many more notes this year even when a broken foot had me down from late April through June. I could still observe and take notes. Hoping to make many more notes in the coming year and learn more about design and growing.
@GardenMoxie23 күн бұрын
That is disappointing to lose your work, isn't it. I am not good about note taking. It is a very valuable gardening skill if you have the discipline. I try to get tons of photos, but as I mentioned, I need to up my game this upcoming season. Thanks for watching.
@GoingGreenMom23 күн бұрын
@GardenMoxie lol, yeah, I'm not great at the notes, that was why I originally started trying to do video clips. Eventually I started making notes for editing me and then was like, I'm not getting enough done with the foot between videos to warrant updates for people. Lol. Hoping next year I can do walkthroughs even if it's just straight footage. So I have both.

Nice review! You sure carved out a nice miniature scale of the formal gardens you love. I’m trying to keep out the wildlife 😅. I spotted one wire cage-expand that and you have my garden areas😂. Not lovely to look at here, but at least I get to see the plants develop. Nothing worse than either spending money on a plant or the time it took to raise it and Poof! It’s gone. @GardenMoxieАй бұрын
Hello and thanks for watching. Merry Christmas. The light blue flowers are forget-me-nots (Myosotis sylvatica). They are biennials. I get mine to bloom every season by letting them go to seed and grow into seedlings the first season. The baby plants grow below the plants that already in the garden. Once they bloom, they get removed. They are easy to grow from seed that you plant right in the garden. They are my absolute favorite spring flower.
