The whole point of Switch 2 is closing the gap & hit that ''Unreal 4/5'' visual standard , as the Switch 1 due to the nature of Nintendo's business position at the time was so underpowered as they had to prioritise the whole revolutionary Hybrid design 1st. Which it has more or less done - just by looking at the (now) previous gen Prime 4!! PS5/6 can move onto Unreal 6, but the gap won't be as great.

The economy is going to be better 2026 onward atleast till 2029.

The thing I'm worried for with Sony is them really going anti-consumer. Why bother playing nice when they don't have any competition anymore? I'm not quite sure how we're supposed to play Forza without analog triggers. Those games are extremely dependent on having a range if inputs per trigger. I wouldn't consider that port a sure thing just yet. They are going to need a very creative solution to make it happen. Perhaps they could put the brake and accelerator on the left and right sticks while controlling the camera with ZL & ZR. Sounds awkward, but maybe.

Sony hasn't really had anything exclusive in years, just an exclusive window of release as everything has gone to PC (except Bloodborne). XBox hasn't had anything even worth buying. Nintendo will always be an exclusive king. Hell, most of their games don't even go on sale, so you are forced to pay full price except for very rare occasions. What I think Sony wants to do is get their best games on mobile platforms like Switch. They have already made it so the PS Portal is now a pretty high end handheld, they just need more games.

I really hope My Time at Evershine does well, I know the Switch 2 is suppose to be stronger but I have doubts because of the other games in the My Time series having bad Switch ports. These did better on PC & kept having issues on the Switch to the point there was a glitch in the apology letter with a compensation item in-game as an apology for the glitches. For context the My Time series(currently My Time in Portia & My Time in Sandrock) is a series of life sims were you move to a town somewhere, work as a person building things for people, figure stuff out leading to a storyline going on, explore the town/world around it & possibly get married. It's not a farm sim but you can eventually grow plants & raise animals. My Time in Evershine is suppose to add town building because you're suppose to be working on making a settlement in a new area in the My Time universe.

Gosh I’m sad to see Xbox go. I don’t buy their stuff. I play GamePass a little now and then but haven’t bought a system since 360, which was the greatest height of my gaming life and so many great memories in college. I’m mostly nostalgic and sad a great American company has not succeeded in a great endeavor, but of course they’ll be fine. That said, Nintendo is my favorite by far. It’s not even close. I’ve only ever owned a PS once resale when a friend didn’t want his and I was single and making money so I got it for the BluRay. I have 4 Nintendo Switches and two Wii’s. We love Nintendo. Our Meta Quest 3 are giving Nintendo a bit of a challenge though! We have hardly touch the switch since we got VR this Xmas. Nintendo needs to do VR add on for switch 2 and show PS how it’s done. I’d buy it for sure! Link, Mario, Samus, Mario Kart all in VR?! And Splatoon?! Smash?! It would be so epic!

This is great to see. It makes sense - R&D of consoles is insanely expensive. Switch has sold 146m units. If Switch 2 sells even half that amount, that’s a massive amount of software sales potential - why would you miss out on it? I also have a theory that handheld gaming will continue to grow in popularity as Gen Z and Gen A enter the world of “being a grown up” - whereby time for PC/console gaming gets increasingly challenging if you have wife/kids/busy job etc. Switch leans into this so well with its sofa/travel-friendly approach. So as those guys enter the real world I think it’ll only continue to grow. The time of console wars is over - it’s the pursuit of kids. The rest of us just want great games.

You are only seeing part of the picture. You aren't mentioning that Sony is cutting staff at Bend studios and has cancelled a dozen games across it's studios. Then regarding Sony's revenue currently 51% of all sales revenue generated on the playstation store are live service (courtesy of Statistica). Xbox is already dominating those with 9 live service games headed by COD. Forza Horizon 5 will be the 10th. Add on top the Xbox single player games all either brand new or at a lower price point that Sony's first party titles, Sony is struggling to sell its own titles on its own platform. Half of the playstation userbase didn't upgrade to the PS5. Third party titles only net Sony 30% before costs; First party titles net Sony 100% before costs. Add to that the recent comments by the reorganised top CEO of Playstation which highlights Sony is not making enough profit and needs to sell games on other platforms (notice the plural, IE not just on PC): • Totoki has said that he wants to be aggressive in improving margin performance. He has also said that in the past, the main purpose of first-party titles was to popularize the console. • Totoki believes that there are opportunities to improve margins. • Sony is looking to bring more first-party games to other platforms to seek growth. • Sony is also looking at a multi-platform pivot to increase profit margins. And Sony's console sales also dropped. Xbox is also in production of a handheld and the next Xbox expected around 2026 will be a hybrid PC Xbox with back compatibility with all the Xbox library and back compatibility as well as access to every PC storefront including steam, epic and GoG which means all the Playstation PC ports will also be on the next Xbox. Xbox are also licensing the hybrid Xbox to OEMs including Lenovo, Dell, Asus and more who will be free to create versions with PC hardware as powerful as they want at different price points, meaning that all the Xbox PC hybrids will be significantly more powerful than even the PS6 Pro because they will use high specification PC hardware instead of a console APU, and will laugh at the PS6 Pro the same way my gaming PC laughs at the PS5 Pro with it's 6 year old CPU.

Nintendo Switch 2 & Sega Dreamcast 2 sound pretty good right about now. And for the most part I hate my PS5. It's such a soulless bleak depressing console, including it's actual console design & controller, the UI is bland, and it's UI music theme sounds like funeral tunes for dying robots. It's soul crushing haha. Video games are supposed to be 'fun'. what happened? Sony embraced that fun 1995 pop culture with PS1 and it showed with it's fun colour accented console & Controller designs, commercials/adds, and plenty of it's library. But they've changed for the worse ever since PS2. Plus, I find most PS5 exclusives less enjoyable than doing cardio in a rain storm. :P I usually only turn on my PS5 when i play VR, and that's that.

I respectfully disagree that you didn't have years with not much big first party Sony games for PS4, like 2015 for instance when Uncharted 4 got delayed to the next year. Yes I understand that they're saying that they want to support these games on the switch 2 and we might see them on their but the only thing is they haven't said anything about the one game that has been on Xbox for awhile that is state of decay 2

Finally seeing sony realize where the money is at. I mena they all will still make money but to capitalize on profits like microsoft has seen is gotta be multi platform despite dropping in profits they are still seeing that is where they can maximize it too. Multi platform is the way to go, just nice to see sony getting onboard too. SUre they dont need every exclusive put on multi platform but some works. ANd since that court merger was approved i have dreamed of the day i could start a forza motorsport race on xbox and save the middle of the race in the cloud/game pass and get on my swotch and download that save and continue while im on the go or on break at work, save again and come home and resume the long race. Of course thats a stretch but seems with technology all of them aree seeing the potential of cloud gaming and being on the go and resuming save files when you get home. THis is good and i think its really good for the indistry too.

Yeah Xbox is putting all of their games on every other console and system because their console is trash now they've done so many software updates and ruined the consoles usability and on top of that half the games that are released now for it don't even work or they take a whole bunch of finagling to you and get it to load Powell World forget about it unless you make a brand new world kingdoms of Allura Reckoning or whatever it was called won't even load unless you do a hard reset on the console there's so many games that just don't work

I want to see destiny 3 if destiny is still a thing and also if you could have a way of having all game titles through one platform that would be great I guess that’s called having a pc i only change to ps5 for its exclusives i haven’t been much a fan having to buy everything all over again like DLC just for it to get shelved into the vault
