Says he hasnt made a video in 2yrs totally forgetting he did whats new vids for the 2024 release! 😂 I think what I meant is it's been that long since I was in the mindset of making regular videos. But either way, hello if you're still here!

Hello Neil, I just can't stress enoughon the importance and impact yoh had on us. As you said, there are lots of tutorial channels most of which rely on your content, modify it then publish as new. None beats your tutorials. Hopefuly you will find time to keep your tutorials coming. Allthe best
@SuperDANDALION9 ай бұрын
Hey @Tech3D I am pretty new to the channel, this past year new! I hope you find a way to make content YOU enjoy, again. Just know there will always be people who want to learn something new and you make it exciting. From your side of things it wouldn't be enjoyable to make up to date tutorials on videos you already have. However, if you can tolerate it, there is a market for it. Universities aren't teaching the way you are and in the detail you do. Anyway just wanted to throw some inspiration at you. I really enjoyed the inventor studio stuff, its not the greatest tool for the job, but it gets the job done for me!

Neil - you should be proud of the legacy you've created with all these videos. I for one (and 20 + yrs of Inventor), still refer to your (brilliant) tutorials. That offer of a pint is still open !!. How to monetise this process - got some thoughts on that.

Hello Neil, your channel and videos are great Your tutorials actually changed my life. I started by watching your tutorials just to learn, then started joining worldskills competitions, and now I'm participating in world class competition in worldskills Lyons 2024 in CAD skill. All thanks to you :))

Been here almost the full 10 years. Your tutorials helped get over software hurdles and later were great additions in my teaching career. Now I don’t use the software much at all but your computer tests/reviews have helped guide me when purchasing a new laptop. Congrats on 10 years.

Still here! Still learning, share you training with each user I work with. Always trying to follow your methods and practice. Would like to see more or remakes of old one. Many more things you can build and show. Would even like to see more of you real work problems and solutions. From importing STEP assemblies and reducing file sizes, to hardware assemblies how to count with out showing them. So much more you can do, You are the standard others tutorial sites try to be. Thank you for all you have done and will do.

First of all congratulations 10 years is massive , for me and that’s a 51 year old male on his second career after loosing my first through disability, you tell and teach in a way that’s very easy to listen to and understand, the video about the courses was spot on when you get to a certain age, I do believe one of the hardest things is making your old videos more relevant for todays audience as I often turn tutorials off that are in a very old software. What ever you decide to do thank you for what you have so far.

10 years, that's a lot of toodles! I still watch, predominatley enjoy the videos of Autodesk news be it software (kills offs or updates) and AU. Since I moved into Revit, the tutorial videos aren't applicable to me any longer. Although I did watch your tutorials back when I did Inventor going back probably near to when you started, when I was studying Mechanical Engineering. Also, watching a fair bit of Gamersnexus or any channel along those lines, it's nice to have a channel that focuses on CAD based computer specing.

Hi Neil, happy 10th anniversary!!!

Came across your channel while in the 2nd year of my mechanical engineering degree and gave me a real new found enthusiasm for design and 3D modelling which I wasn’t really getting from my uni at the time and has give me a clearer path to what I want to do with my degree so thank you. Watched your channel ever since and unsure if you ever would do tutorial type videos again but would love to see maybe a few part series modelling and assembling something for people to follow along with, like a wishbone suspension or something alike.

Neil, I first started learning Inventor back in 2016. The trainer on that course recommended your channel to me. It has been absolutely invaluable to me over the years. For various reasons, my Inventor use was sporadic for a few years. This last year, I've used it every day. I think every day I do something in it that I learned from one of your videos. I still refer back to them occasionally. They're still a great resource. I'm still learning things about Inventor. I'd love to see you make more video's of higher end things in it. Having said that, if it's been ten years, and it's not doing what you want it to, and you need to move onto other things, then I would completely understand. Know that you have made a positive difference in people's lives.

Hi Neil. Happy Anniversary and Happy New Year. I hope you & yours are doing well. As I've said before, I was able to become proficient in Inventor because of your content and I will be forever grateful for that. I was scanning your back catalogue just the other day to refresh my memory on a technique I hadn't used in a while. I do understand your frustration with the amount of time you invested in this endeavor only to see a shrinking return. I have faced a similar issue with my business. I try to keep a high standard and end up losing projects to people who deliver absolute crap. I just can't bring myself to sink to their level. Here to things looking up in 24. Cheers, Chris

Also about Vault, which I now independently upgrade and maintenance, I have gained a lot of knowledge of you. I have always given you thumbs, but never through a comment. Thank you for the extensive videos and your explanation !! Regarding the future: it will always remain a niche market. (That is why those licenses are so expensive, I think 😁)

Jesus Neil, I never had you down as a self-wallower!!! yes I know we all like a pat on the back for work well done sometimes so here's one from me. I have been watching your videos pretty much from the beginning (even the singing ones 😲) they have pulled me out of the Sh@t, work-wise on more than a few occasions, even recently I went back in the archives for the '3D Pattern Along a Curved Path' video for the umpteen times because I can never remember how. You've even done a video (How to show an assembly in two different positions on the same drawing) from a message I sent you that again really helped me. Please never underestimate the impact you've had and still have on the community. Your videos are always my first go-to starting point if I can't remember or sus something. I know this doesn't pay the bills and maybe you will have to get a proper job 🤣 but I for one will see it as a very dark day if you hang up your tutorials. maybe you could make it easier for someone to ask a CAD question that you can do a video on. the way I asked the question I mentioned before doesn't seem to be there anymore, and questions can be lost if just put in the comments. Anyway, Neil, I think your great. Best of luck, Jack

Omg. I remember watching your inventor tutorials along time ago. You had a lot less gray than and so did I. I no longer use inventor, moved over Siemens NX / Teamcenter. NX is only one of multiple software stacks I have to blend together now. CAD, making 3d models, is no longer the most bleeding edge in the industry. The big next frontier is MBSE, digital thread, shenanigans. Engineering is at the stage where we are trying to figure out the big picture of cross domain interaction.

A lot of 3D printer enthusiasts but really few people who know how to model their own projects in CAD. So the market for people learning how to do design for additive manufacturing is really big I think. Those who can model mostly consist of tinkerCAD people or people who learned themselves how to model and probably don't do it right so yeah maybe that.

It's unfortunate. But it seems "the industry" is a bit apathetic to technology. I was trying to find information about what computer upgrades would actually make a difference for CAD/ CAM, and you have more of that than the rest of the internet. I asked my software's developer simple questions, and I got the wrong/ unhelpful answers. Then I figured out how to configure my computer to run simulations 40% faster, and then asked the developer about it. Long story, but in the end it is a disappointment. It would be nice if there was more of a pro user community, the way there is a gamer community. But games are for fun, and CAD is just work, I suppose...

I've been subscribed for 8 years, in that time I have left college with distinction in mechanical engineering, had 5 different CAD jobs, 2 in the UK and 3 in New Zealand and I have used SOLIDWORKS instead of Inventor in the last 2 roles I have had. I have spoken to many people who have worked in the same or similar roles and the name Neil Cross still evokes a reaction (even once the reply, "I know his brother"). Neil, I am not subscribed because of the education content any more, I am subscribed because of you and whatever content you make whether it's related to CAD or not (we all remember that your most viewed video is you shouting about a chair) and you were the one that convinced me to buy an Oculus Quest 2 Make whatever videos you want (or not), I will still be subscribed and will continue to be because I like to see the friendly face that taught me so much and see what you have been doing from time to time 🫡
