📚Description: In 2010, there was a Jonas Brother's signature melody maker that was quite surprisingly spec'd with dual p90s, flat white finish, ebony fretboard and full headstock. However, before those, there were these - Contest Giveaway prizes with Joe, Nick and Kevin Jonas' signatures on the pickguard, regular melody maker specs and a modified Jonas Brothers logo under the tailpiece.
The 2007/8 Melody maker came in 2 pickup and 1 pickup variations. I always thought these looked cheap and assumed they didn't sound that good. I was actually pleasantly surprised with how good this one sounded! I'd suggest picking one up if you can find a good deal.

My first Gibson guitar was a melody maker I bought it back in 64 for $99 with a case And it was the one with the whammy bar on it , also hook the boss tone up to it, One of the first distortions you could plug into your guitar

I had a pelham blue SG MELODY MAKER all through Junior High and High school. Two single coil pickups. Loved that guitar. White pick guard, of course. No toggle switches, just those little horizontal off on switches. Played it all the time. Played it in my junior high school band. We had fun. Loaned it to a guy freshman year in college, who was thinking about buying it, and it fell from his top bunk and broke where the knobs and electronics were. He paid me for it and glue d it together and it still worked. I'd love to get another but mine was like $169 and now, inflation and all, a clean one is many thousands.

After 2011 (post government raid) they came with a baked maple fretboard instead of rosewood. Lost the magic. Make sure you get rosewood.

There was a cheaper Les Paul bodied guitar. called the Gibson Baldwin Epoch. it was an entry level guitar that carried the moniker Gibson Baldwin Education. it didn't have the Gibson inlay on the headstock. instead it had an Epoch inlay on the headstock. it had two humbucker type pick-ups and a raptail bridge. and it was only produced one year in 2007. and they were all black with binding on the top of the guitar. to have an accurate representation of all the guitars that Gibson produced. you should at least have one of them in your museum. besides you can probably pick one up for cheap. last I knew one's in pretty good condition were going for just under $200.00. however you may not want to do a review and demo on it.

I was wondering if you would ever do a review on this guitar. I got the Sunburst model and I love it. My single coil does not sound harsh when cranked up but I do roll down the tone a bit too. I have been putting off installing my Dimarzio SDS-1 b/c I like the way the original pickup sounds. Eventually I will try the Dimarzio and I also have a Lollar Melody Maker P90 but that will be the last pickup I try b/c I have to route the body out. Oh I also bought an Emerson bumble bee wire harness and some hipshot locking tuners.

I have to agree with the Trog-meister i kinda like the sound and tone of this one. Kind of Stratty tones clean yet it also sounds good with some gain. Imho its a rather cool model, I'd take it. Also love the B.O.C. Cities on Flame at the end! 👍

Challenge for Trog. Sensational Alex Harvey Band-Midnight Moses Live. Lead guitarist Zal Cleminson is playing what looks to be a Gibson SG with dot inlay, single dog-eared dual P-90's, ABR-1? and overwrapped stoptail. 1 witch hat knob and 4 switches, junior style bean tuner tips. Is it legit? The Telecaster that Alex is playing is kinda suspect, too. Cool band from back in the day.

I have the 2011 Explorer melody maker. It is a really good playing guitar. I got mine off of Reverb and it had an intonatable bridge and upgraded tuners and had a Duncan JB in the bridge, that is a fun guitar. I don't like the bigger size of the regular explorers so this one is perfect. I also have 2011 Les Paul Melody maker with single humbucker pickup only volume control. That one plays well too, resonant unplugged and just a fun guitar. The pickup is ok, would have preferred something hotter.
