Your channel is going to grow at an exponential rate if you keep the video quality high and be persistent. I have no doubts

I was JUST talking to someone about this kind of thing this week! I definitely struggle a little bit with this, but other people in my life REALLY limit themselves like this.

What a simple, yet life changing thing to realize and keep in check. You put this into words perfectly. I think this also can be applied to how we see society, the world, and even individuals. Generalizing can make is incorrectly judge others and ourselves. We mostly see and experience what we choose to - generalization and assumption ( in language and thinking) are the main way we do so - which can hinder our personal peace and limit ourselves if we aren’t careful. Thank you for your videos, Austin. I’ve loved watching them.

“Possibility/Impossibility generalizations” makes me think of something that I’ve been saying for ages… “Don’t say can’t when you mean won’t”. it’s almost a pet peeve of mine. It’s denying personal agency.

I’ve never heard victimization explained in this way. 5:32 power stuff. It actually kind of scared me. Now here’s a quote that I kept thinking about during this video. “The other things that matters if we want to be happy is the story we tell ourselves about who we are and the story we tell ourselves about the universe.”

Just started watching your content and I like it. Think you are onto something with generalisation. The irony is to talk about it is seems necessary to generalise. But thats a cheap shot compared to benefits of realising the negative impact on what it does. In some ways and in some societies, it maybe seem as weakness not to cut to the chase, make a generalisation and get out of that one and on to the next new shiny thing. Sort of like the old joke "Why do you generalise? It saves time." Looking forward to bingeing on your videos.

This is really great stuff! I’ve always realised this way of thinking but it’s easy to forget to employ it in daily life. It’s also nice to see this concept out into words.

Wow these realisations are very good, and these reminded me of a protagonist from Log Horizon, he actually used these techniques to do the impossible things, he was doing all those things seemed like magic but now it is a lot clear

Hi, Austin. I just found your channel and subscribed. I was an editor for my wife's publishing company for years, so I am obsessed with typos. The last segment of this video (great video, by the way) is labeled 'oblate generalization' instead of 'obliterate generalization'. That's either a typo, or 1) there is a character count limitation for the label and you were compelled to remove some of the letters 2) you are generalizing about doorknob-shaped objects 3) you are generalizing about those in monasteries (Anabaptist monasteries, I assume). I pray that you will have a blessed Thanksgiving and wildly successful KZbin career.
