@@lumintroII that's another thing that's so fucked up. Comp games are so lopsided. I play solo. I should be matched with and against other solos or duos at most. You are a duo same goes for you. But, the way Blizzard changed it is now whatever range is good enough for a match that's what you get. Stacks perform better on average though then random strangers with different playstyles so you'll always get fucked up

Had this type of experience back in COD Black Ops 2 (PS3). Either same cheater, or different ones, and they ruined one of my favorite games back then.

2 suggestions I think could be huge help with the cheater problem. 1. Make a system that finds all the players who played with a cheater within the current season. Once the cheater account is banned, give a preset amount of SR (just something like 10%) to any player who lost to the cheater. Shouldn’t be too hard to teach a system to scrub through the accounts ranked match history and connect to each player on opposing teams. 2. Make a system similar to the LoL surrender but instead be for a draw. If a majority of the lobby votes to draw, doesn’t matter the map type they can draw and end the game to avoid the loss for either team and give the cheater nothing. This also can give an immediate red flag to defense matrix when games end that way to start searching for a bad child in the match.

@@WastelanderSky it would work like lol, but if the enemy also agrees to surrender it's a draw, but if your entire team agrees to surrender and the other does not you would only lose like 5% since the average gain is anywhere between 20-25%.

To my understanding as to why OW and I think a lot of games heavily prefer the ban waves rather than banning individual accounts is not because of the kind of hack and how intense it is (Aimbot, Walls, etc) but how the hack works (Scimming, Reading the game files, etc). You could have 3 different aimbots that all appear the same in game, but use 3 different methods to actually perform the hack. If an account immediately was banned using 2 of these methods but one of the accounts was able to run free for an extended period of time, the creators of the hack would have an easier time identifying what triggered the anticheat. Whereas when they do mass banwaves, its harder for the hack creators to identify a single thing triggering the anticheat since each account could have a different trigger but all of them got banned at the same time, making it difficult to know what exactly got it banned. It really sucks but as of rn, its a necessary evil in order for the people developing anticheats to keep an edge over those creating hacks.

This is kind of a poor excuse for things like ragehackers. Those movements are not possible humans. It only makes sense for soft aim assist or walls. Most hackers you see in the game that would get caught are these kinds of people so instant banning wouldn't really reveal anything in terms of detection outside of the anticheat can detect spinbotting. The cheating problem is getting worse and worse since OW2 came out so no ban waves aren't a necessary evil with these kinds of cheaters it's just Blizzard not investing in having anti-cheat and instead gaslighting their playerbase insisting the game has better anticheat then OW1 yet has 10x the cheater problem. I'm sorry but there is no perceived advantage letting your game be destroyed by letting cheaters run rampant in the game for months at a time. It makes people just stop playing which equals less revenue which turns into the game being abandoned by the devs.

@@bradmiles1984 I don't think you understood a thing I said. It's not the type of cheat that is the issue creating the ban wave we know now. It's HOW the cheat is able to detect what's a player, find it's head, etc. Hack devs are constantly creating new ways to go against the anti cheat and if new methods get banned instantly it's apparent that the method used was flawed. If it's part of a ban wave it's harder to know what part of what of the 1000 different methods was caught. PirateSoftware (I think he's called) did a much better explanation of it if you want to look into it. Just make sure to read everything first :)

@AngrySecs yeah there was a known exploit with torb involving a certain skin that allowed an unintended interaction which could crash the server. It's why now people get that message that some customization options cannot currently be used.

You mention you cant vote to kick the cheater because games would end up kicking non-cheaters too. Instead they should implement a vote to kick one person from each team of equivalent roles. So in this case both teams vote to drop a support so it becomes a 4v4.

Only problem is you screw over the innocent person that gets dropped. They should just have anti-cheat in game that actually detects the cheating and cancels the match with no sr loss except for the person who was caught. This is how most games handle it.

I don't get the "fun" in cheating in competitive games. Really I mean you do it for a little bit, get banned, buy a new account just to rinse and repeat. Why? What's the point. You're wasting so much money and then it truly means nothing. You're not going to go pro, you're not going to get any financial compensation, literally it's all a giant L, and you're still going for it. Then, for the teammates to know they have a cheater with them and still plays, nah you're a piece of shit just like the cheater. Cheating in games is the equivalent of stealing candy for a baby.
