as a chechen(Kist) it warms my heart to see that there are people like you that spreads our history to people who have never even heard about us. i wish you all god in this world and dont stop what you are doing, rather keep doing it and let the world see other parts of this world who many people dont know about

You are an ethnographer of a very high level of skill. I am amazed someone so young as you is able to managed the complexity of political questions you ask. As polite as you are, you ask some hardball questions. You once told me that I overstate the importance of your work. I don't think so. This was so real and honest and it is documenting a world that is vanishing under the pressure of modernism. As for those pants, every cultural anthropologist has a story to tell about their missteps into cultural conformity and practice. Everything about this video is great!

I watched and "liked" this on my tv. I very much appreciate all the work you put into your videos. What a special feeling to interview a man who watched history happening. You are so fortunate! My father was in WWII and the Korean War, and he tells us very sad, happy and terrifying stories about the places he was sent to. He told us one story about Japanese daughters who were sent to wash their clothes and massage the men in return for protection from the Japanese soldiers who would rape them. Though I am quite certain in happened on both sides... 😒 They once saved them by warning them of an attack that came in the night. I owe those courageous women my heartfelt thanks for saving my father. I know you miss your drone, but this interview was amazing. Congratulations on a great video my friend.

Great production, beautiful footage, excellent interview. It looks like a wonderful and peaceful place to be. That elderly gentleman Khaso is a treasure. When he was talking about Beria's urge to control the regions with or without the Chechen people's presence, I couldn't help but reflect on the same attitude prevailing in the current Ukraine war. It was also interesting that he made a distinction about people not agreeing with Russian influence as opposed to Soviet. Keep up the good work.

This is very interesting. Khaso Khangoshvili is very very knowledgeable about the history of the area. You were lucky to find him. How did you manage to find him? (Also that he had Grape vines growing behind him). I liked that he said 'At the moment' he is an old man. It made me wonder if his real name might be Benjamin Button. :o)

Khaso Khagoshvili seems quite an amazing character. He tells lots of things we don't know here in the west. Funny anecdote, I never noticed that the Russian word for school is школа and that it is very much pronounced like in our local dialect "skoale". But then Russian has about 3000 Dutch loanwords...
@Artem_Mukhametgaliev Жыл бұрын
I noticed that not too long ago too. Yeah, thanks Peter the great brought us КАРТОФЕЛЬ . It sounds more official, but stil in use, basically we say КАРТОШКА, more rusified. And how it’s rooted, I couldn’t imagine any Russian cuisine without that!
@blokkadeleider Жыл бұрын
@@Artem_Mukhametgaliev Картофель comes from German "Kartoffel". We mostly use "aardappel" which literally means "earth apple". IN local dialecty we use "tuffel" and has to do with the strange Low-Saxon habit of dropping the first syllable when abbreviating a word 🤣
