I didn’t realize how much I’ve learned from watching your videos until yesterday, when my mom’s car broke down and i had to go load it on a trailer and pull it home. That doesn’t sound too complicated but I’m 17 and I’ve never done that before. I would’ve been really lost if I hadn’t seen you guys do that hundreds of times. Thank you so much, you guys are awesome!

To be fair to the ones on the muddy road. It was a fairly long steep hill, the idea of losing traction mid way or nearly on top and simply sliding downwards again is fairly darn scary. So I understand why'd they instead just called someone that knew what they were doing.

If you think it is cold, you will BE cold. If you don't pay attention to the cold, you won't feel the cold. Matt has gone, mostly, without a coat or jacket since then. Hey Matt and crew, was watching an older video and you mentioned burning out Alternators, something I have done in the past using high powered stereo amps and subs, without upping the size of the Alternator is using Deep cycle batteries, mainly used in boat applications they "drain" slower, coupled with a capacitor will help reduce the draw on your Alternators. Hope that helps. Keep up the great work.

Good morning I think your team needs to remember that recoveries involving the wrecker there is only two seats in the wrecker so it will be a cold ride. Rhett did a really good job driving the car out of there.

Matt, why not carry some jumper cables? Especially knowing it wasn't starting before going to the job. At times, you don't bring certain items which you think you should have had. Do you have or considered an item inventory check sheet to make sure you have all the stuff? No hating; love all your videos!

Try anything east of the pass. The desert topsoil gets undercut by water and turns into invisible 3-4ft thick concrete. Driving along, losing speed, up to your ears, and you stick your head out the window and everything looks dry. 😅

You could send your off road wrecker to Robby to fix those holes, but he would accidentally warp the roof and have to cut the whole top off and redo it and it would be there for six months.

Too bad everyone wasn't so great full & respectful! You could tell the owner of the white Chevy was so thankful! Donuts are always a plus! Almost as if the gut was a cowboy! Honest appreciation makes it worth it! Here in western Idaho we have alot of Clay & it looks fine... the next thing your in trouble, big mud tires need a ton of wheel speed just to start clearing... BFG ATs are great for snow & Ice but worthless in clay. A good shower & the top is greasy for several days unless the sun bakes it dry. We use heavy tire chains & winches to recover a rig or you become another obstacle lol.

Just pulled the Amazon driver out of some soft ground. Used the "put it in drive but don't give it any gas" method. Much better than leaving trans in neutral as you don't lose ground as you gain altitude. The Amazon driver has no idea how glad he should be that your youtube channel has a lot of useful tips. Thanks!

I used to work on Audis. Most of the time when they come into the workshop the lower cover is held on with cable ties. If you go to use the screw in tow point that screws into the bumper be careful. They are more of a screw in tiedown point than a towing or jerking point as they cam be torn out of the bumper causing damage. I've seen the results of an 80 series landcruiser with a strechy tow strap tow an audi 80 up a steep grass bank. He took a run with it and it pulled out destroying the fitting and leaving a dent in the tailgate from the screw in hook. LOL Ended up getting a tow truck to get the car out.

My preferred "jumper cable" is a 2/0 awg welding leads. I spliced in an Anderson connector 2/0 awg quick disconnects to make it fast and easy to switch what I am using the bulk of the cable for and just have an "adapter" to switch between a stinger and your traditional battery cable crocodile clamps.

Reversing a front wheel drive in sticky mud or snow works surprisingly well - I took a Volvo new shape V60 out of a 6 inch deep mud field in reverse a few summers back at a festival when everyone else was just sat there waiting to be rescued by the farmer's tractors - always worth a try!

I had a buddy who splashed through a puddle and then his truck wouldn't start. It wasn't hydrolocked, the air filter was just wet. We took it out and the truck ran fine. Once the filter dried out no more issue. That Observation Point road is no joke! I've been convinced that my car was going to be stuck down that hill 3 or 4 times and it wasn't close to that bad. That mud is just slick snot. Do not go up the North Fork/East Mesa road when it's wet unless you absolutely have to, and then be really sure.

Chevy fuel pumps are a common problem. I know this is an older video, but you should have pushed the Schrader valve on the fuel rail, to see if there was fuel pressure. If there isn't, beat on the bottom of the gas tank and jar the pump loose. That'll kick the fuel pump loose about 99% of the time. I've been in the auto repair industry for over 40 years. I've helped many a stranded driver by just doing that.

I wonder if the crank sensor got muddied/frozen up and that’s why it isn’t firing over. Or maybe something got ripped off going on.. being that it ran before it went into the mud, I’d bet it’s something going on in with the crank signal. Too damn convient that it ran before it got stuck.
