Most of the western people especially those in the US would give you a cookie cutter answer to say things like we don't discriminate we treat everyone the same and then turn around and treat everyone differently. At least from the people on the street especially the young people, they are genuinely just curious and happy to see foreigners without much bias. It is always part of Chinese culture to return a favor if someone is nice to you. You can tell their education they don't brainwash their kids Americans are bad like they do in the US when there are social pressures to conform to the social standards to judge people by their skin. The shocking thing is I experienced more cultural hatred from African Americans -- mainly the women. Racism against black people in China also has something to do with gender. A black man is discriminated against more than a black woman. That's because there are too many single men in China(30 million+), so a Chinese woman who dares to be friendly to or intimate with a black man will anger Chinese men. Also, some people are only curious and friendly on the first interaction, the second interaction could be totally different because what happens is these nice people get brainwashed by racists and they change just like that.
@Kcrunchymunch2 жыл бұрын
@@joseph3036 I don't doubt it, have you experienced this personally traveling in China as a Black man? I've watched interactions with Black men and Chinese women only, and not seeing the reactions from the Chinese men. In America there is plenty of biases to Black people from the Chinese community that seems to be fueled by conservative Chinese/Vietnamese people that align themselves to White supremacist Christian. They wish for favorable positions in society and will sell their own people out to get it.
@joseph30362 жыл бұрын
@@Kcrunchymunch I left China in 2020, lived there for 5 years. In my experience, Chinese people are just as racist as white Americans it's just that they don't like direct confrontation, so they'll not yell in your face. There is a lot of discrimination even among themselves. They have negative stereotypes about other ethnic groups within China, and marriage between the different ethnic groups is still not common despite the fact that they've been living together for thousands of years. If you go on Chinese social media, you'll see a lot of anti-black people articles and videos with millions of likes. I know a Chinese girl who's an internet celebrity, she one day posted a picture with her black friend, and the comment section was filled with negative comments, she tried to explain that they were only friends, but they wouldn't stop. She finally deleted the picture to save her career. Most foreigners don't actually know that the Chinese are extremely racist because they don't understand Chinese culture and live in their own foreign bubble.

Love you 2. And love what you are doing. You are showing what a lot of westerners don't know : that the Chinese are overwhelmingly curous about and friendly to foreigners. You are doing very important things by making these videos. Bringing us all together. Your personalities are amazing.

What a great video. Showing the real China and Chinese people. Reminds me of being there in 2017. A great counter to all the crap in Western media and hatred spread by xenophobes and western politicians. You can see how free, open and fun China is. Filming, chatting and expressing themselves openly. And cops/security are so nice especially if they want to practice english
