Yep, I get that too when I speak Korean, Japanese and Chinese. It's true! They get super excited when you speak their language. I be getting free stuff and discounts lol. I studied Mandarin in high school and college for three years. I studied Japanese for 2 years in college and before I took classes, I was teaching myself Japanese since I was 13 years old. I taught myself basic Korean and phrases. Several years ago at the hair store, there was this one Korean guy who acted just like the guy in the video lol. My mom and dad said that he was jumping over the shelves to check me out. He was following me around and asked me a few times if I needed help. They were aware that I can speak Korean and Japanese because they spoke both languages. His mom kept taking to me about his son and how he was the same age as me. My dad said that he was interested in me because he leaned so close to me when paying for my stuff. I didn't know what was going on. I have autism...so I can't tell when people like me. I don't know until somebody tell me.

@@JaejoongPrincess wow I admire your ability to study multiple languages. It's actually common everywhere. In my country there are 3 main languages spoken besides English. When you are from another tribe and you can speak their language people get excited. 😂😂😂 especially traders. I speak mostly English but when I go to the market I speak in my native language (Yoruba)

One thing I had to learn when dealing with people from other cultures is that when they do or say something that seems like it's an invasion of personal space or offensive, often they don't even realize it. I myself have been guilty of doing this with an Arabic friend of mine and I had to apologize to him. I commend you for being open-minded and calm even when the guy touched your hair without permission, or when they asked if your hair was fake.

She runs her fingers through her hair and complimented her hair is so silky. Sometimes people are just too excited and curious they forget what is happening. Not weaves and wigs...not that anything is wrong with those either. It's just crazy how people keep taking my compliments and try to flip it to make it sound like I said something bad. I love these kind of videos. It kind of makes me sad that more black aren't open to traveling due to stares. Ppl see stares & automatically jump to the conclusion of "racism." Ofc sometimes it actually is, but most of the time staring is just human curiosity. Ik it's hard for some to fathom bc most English speaking countries are melting pots, but any foreigner that visits a homogenous society will get stares. Especially if you stand out by being really tall or tiny, different facial features, different skin color, eye color, hair color or texture & so on.

As a Latina growing up and going to school with mostly all black kids I also got my hair touched a lot!! Mostly probably because everyone thought I was black and was trying to figure out why my hair looked wavy. I had a lot of people thinking I was wearing weave or I had a relaxer. It was weird at 1st but I got used to it though my mom did get upset because I would always come back home from school with my hair all messed up 😂
