This rig looks so dense! Like a little dense cube of filmmaking :) Pretty awesome! And the Kondor Blue PRO-BLADE handle seems like an interesting and convenient thing to use! I was sooo amazed when I saw it for the first time. Have you used it on a shoot already? What are your thoughts on its ease of use and reliability?

It's not super comfortable in the hand, because of it's shape, however it is super useful to have the built in SSD, I have used it on a couple of shoots and so far rock solid for reliability and one of the better purchases I've made recently. I have not tested it with the 6K full frame yet thought to see it it can do the higher bit rates.

Pretty solid build! I personally prefer a shoulder rig setup that can as well be taken off, so had to get the amazing Tilta shoulder rig but for the tripod fluid head used the Falcam F50 as the Tilta shoulder rig is actually manfrotto, but with the F50 you can just snap it in and out without the need of conventionally sliding it which will need you to take off the shoulder cushion. The monitor though is mounted on the side using Arri rosette mount and arm extender with another Arri rosette to Arri location pin for the monitor which keeps it twist-free.

I'm working on a shoulder rig build at the moment, but it's a whole different dynamic! That Tilta shoulder rig looks amazing.

@@thesavagefilmmaker Yeah the biggest problem with Tilta shoulder rig was mounting it on a tripod. Falcam F50 made it perfect!

I'm wondering how well the new Zoom H1 XLR would work as an alternative to the F3 given it costs half the price, has 32bit float, and 2 full size phantom powered XLR jacks like the F3. The only big difference currently known is the form factor and build material. The H1 XLR is thinner in 2 dimensions but taller in the XLR direction by 1.2" at ( 2.44"w x 4.2"h x1.54"d) where as the F3 is (3"w x 3"h x 1.9"d).

I can't see an H1 with XLR ports. But looking at the Zoom H1 it looks like it might be a bit of an awkward shape for a rig build.

Nice, but how are you recording the raw from the Video Assist? I don’t see an SSD.

The video assist has an SD card slot. The 7" version has 2 slots.
