It would be very interesting to see if Dave can get enough elevation off the deck with his swing speed, its hard to get loft with a 3 wood with a lower swing speed and this had less loft than a 3 wood!

Finally…. Somebody asking the right questions regarding mini drivers. Is this a better option for somebody who’s only carrying a 3 wood due to not being able to keep the driver on the planet. Rick Shiels always says he cannot see the point of the mini driver. Well, Chris hit the nail on the head.

Yup. That's me. High power slice.... Eventually fixed. 2 weeks later the duck hooks came to stay. Weirdly I strike my irons well and hit hybrids straight and high off tee more often than not. Enter a short shaft 2 wood with modern technology. TM 300 mini driver. Hopefully it works.

Six years ago I started to play golf regularly. I bought a complete set of fitted clubs. My handicap has dropped from 18.5 to 9.6. I have just retired and would like to update my clubs bearing in mind I have turned 65 and am bound to start to lose flexibility and distance. Most golfers can’t afford to update clubs every year so I would love to see a fitting for someone like myself who wants to upgrade from 5-6 year old clubs and see what improvements there could be in distance, dispersion left/right and back to front and importantly stopping power on the green. Thinking of a combo set of Srixon ZX gen 2 irons to replace Callaway Rogue Pros and updating my Ping G410 Plus driver and TM Sim2 Max 3 snd 5 woods. Love my Mack Daddy wedges.

Maybe I pulled the trigger too soon. I went for the adjustable Takomo 3 wood (15 degrees, plus or minus 2 degrees of adjustability). I can't seem to keep my driver on the golf course. Mini driver might be something to consider.

I HATE PXG, now I have to spend more money lol. I've put together a FREE PXG setup by flipping clubs over the last 18 months or so but the TaylorMade burner copper mini driver stands out like a sore thumb in my bag....so I'm booking a fitting Monday and will replace the TaylorMade with this new mini driver from PXG. I have a bit of OCD and as good as the TaylorMade copper is it just winds me up seeing it in the bag lol.

I put the tayloymade Brnr in the bag and pulled my driver and 3 wood. I score better from the short grass . I understand the ego that keeps the std driver in the bag, however scoring is more important to me.

Problem with PXG over TM is PXG is only 13 degree. If you lower to 11.5 like Chris did it opens the face and makes a fade/slice more common and since most of us do fade and slice, it will make it worse. Now if you go with the TM 11.5 and move it to 13, it will close creating more of a draw bias.

13 degrees maybe what you want in order to hit it from the deck. The TM doesn’t really have that as a secret weapon.

That's where putting the heavier weight in the heel would counter the fade bias of less loft on an open face (There is so much adjustability on this club) 4 weight ports, +/-1.5, +/-1 or flat +/-1.

So the PXG arrived and the TM mini driver is getting sold. I find the PXG draw biased although I have been intentionally trying to favour a slight toe strike which compounds the draw. Placing one of the 12.5 g weights in the toe (so the fade setting) (and leaving the other 12.5 g weight at the back) stopped the overdraw and gives a nice draw shape landing centre fairway when I hit it nicely. The club promotes confidence at address and I can hit it from the fairway whereas I wouldn’t attempt that shot with the TM Burner mini driver.

The problem with PXG around here is that it's a real challenge to try before you buy, and I'm not about to splash out $650 CAD for a club I've never put hands on.

Are they really any good, I bought a Callaway paradigm and what a disaster my taylormade M2 2016 beat it with distance and forgiveness. Major brands are just ripping the consumer off. No driver is worth the money, perhaps do your research as most drivers cost about £50 to make, and then we get the additional bullsh*t how good they are, 😂

Way to expensive, and the point of a Mini driver is they are a mini driver, thats a fairway plus rather than mini driver and theres absolutely no issues with hitting the TM brnr off the deck its an absolute weapon off the fairway, out the rough because of the head size, I love PXG stuff and Im playing blackops tour but this just seems pointless especially given the price point i would never bin the TM for this. Particularly given you can pick up the brnr for 220-250 on ebay, spurce a Velocore shaft on there as well for 130 and £100 cheaper with far superior shaft

LMFAO, BRNR is the same price new. Hypocrisy at its best with you. I guess you get fitted for used clubs. Sure. Velocore shaft is the technology in a Ventus shaft. PXG has Ventus shafts too, if that's what you're fitted into. If you're paying $130 for a Ventus shaft, it isn't a real 1. They're $350. $300 at PXG. Now you just bought a used BRNR with shaft you mentioned for $380. I get Hero price at $359 with PXG being fitted.
