No main 1, no battle phase, you can't go to main 2, without battle phase.

This is a situation where a more organized company would amend the rules to say something like "if a player conducts their Main Phase 1 and skips their Battle Phase, they also skip Main Phase 2" to avoid this kind of...technical lock. If a deck is going to make the opponent skip all three phases, it should have to skip ALL THREE, not two, but the third is collateral damage.

First replay reminded me of that one replay from a Farfa video, some guy pulled out the entire "Final" alternate win con by just making his opponent unable to play and skipped his turn

Back before I barely knew much about Yu-Gi-Oh on Master Duel, I once summoned Crooked Cook and used Final Countdown, to which my opponent was on Arcana Force - The World with a tech to infinitely spawn 2 Mystic Shine Balls as tribute fodder to skip my turn completely. Unfortunately he had no out to my Crooked Cook and thus I won despite him showing off being able to skip my turn repeatedly. This is also when I learned that despite my turn being skipped, the turns passed on Final Countdown still went up.

Yep, it specifically allows you to activate a Quick Play or Trap set by its effect(Normal Spells already can be activated the turn they're set but don't get the extra advantage from doing this during the opponent's turn).

@@MarioLopez-xs3vc question: the dark magician's effect (set and immediately activate) works only on Normal traps? or any trap in general? After all it only said "Trap" while it had to specifiy it only worked with Quick-Play spells

I've managed to sneak a lot of wins off using Nemleria simply due to opp not realizing the continuous spell protects more than once per turn and gets you to girl really fast. The goofiest build I've done with it is still Vaalmonica Nemleria tho lmao

People are probably looking for the 1 card which results into the ftk like not hard once per turn burn dmg or 8k+ burn dmg (the trigger). Then you try find the ideal setup like self revining insects or a 8k+beatstick. (The fuel). Then you build an engine around it. Thats also how the bish ftks changed over week. The trigger stayed but the fuel got replaced.

Man that is a beautiful Dark Magician deck with the Albion cards. I've tried to make it work myself but I couldn't find the right fix for it. I would love to know that deck list. It would help steer me in the right direction.

Imperm does it, Droplet does it, Cosmic Cyclone does it, Twin Twisters does it, and they have like 9 turns to draw it. It's not a very good lock.

Not a lot of people are playing those though, imperm stops the battle phase skip which is probably the most likely way to get out of the lock aside from stopping them from doing it in the first place

@@arkadarkartist Evenly doesn't do it. They don't have a battle phase, so you can't use it because it doesn't skip to the end of it, it skips entirely to the end phase. That said, you don't need Runick or Tear. Imperm, Droplet, Ghost Ogre, Gamma, any QP removal, Super Poly, Book of Moon, Widow Anchor, Kurikara, etc all break the lock. Meanwhile, decks like Labyrinth eat it for breakfast. Not even to mention the shananegans they could get up to with discard for hand size. Better pray they didn't draw Rollback in those 9 turns.

@@Endershock1678 Right about evenly, totally forgot they skip their own. I was going more for full decks that would deal naturally with it instead of specific cards (like lab) just as a side note/question, how kurikara would deal with it if everything is happening on the opp turn?

Need to enter battle phase before you can enter main phase 2. If battle phase cannot be conducted/is skipped you cannot enter main phase 2.

If there's no Battle Phase to split it, you don't get a Second Main Phase. Pretty dumb in all honesty, especially when cards exist that ONLY work/can be used in MP1, and others specific to MP2. Also can lead to some pretty annoying moments when using Runick cards since you have to manually skip your Battle Phase for it to count, and doing so goes straight to End Phase.
