Yes please - VShojo has been very inspiring for me, and I adore all the talents they have. I know they've made mistakes - don't we all? But I know they've grown beyond those mistakes and learned to do better. They wouldn't have attracted Mata, Kuro, Henya, Geega, Kson, or any other talent if they were that terrible.

4:20 Just to add how awesome Gunrun and Ironmouse is, one of their new talents K9KURO speaks about how he had a huge tax debt due to some mismanagement from his past company and he wasn't offered any assistance from said company, and out of desperation he messaged some of his friends asking for advice and that includes Ironmouse and Mousey is the first to respond. Not only she helped Kuro, Gunrun offered help aswell with connecting him with the right people and this is not a one time thing this is months of back and forth assistance.
@jack_shippo8 ай бұрын
Oh damn that's crazy - I hope Kuro is able to get that in check, debt can be ROUGH to deal with - also just another thing that shows how good of a person Mouse is, she seems like the type to bend over backwards for her friends, and it shows through her actions. It's awesome that Gunrun helps out too - just solidifies they're good people.

Talent owned IP vs Company owned IP is a complicated issue and comes down to what the talent WANTS to do and what the talent CAN do. People compare Vshojo to Mythic, but Mythic only really arranges for sponsors, not organize concerts. I don't really think it's worth worrying about what model is the best, but which company(and its management) matches the talent working for them. Cover solely own the Hololive talent's IP, but they have really good retention. Cover also doesn't seem to care if you have side gigs in your free time so long as you bring your A Game to the company. PhaseConnect is a relatively new player, also have really good retention and their are fairly unrestrictive with their talents. Phase had a really unstable first year, but their CEO was new to the businesses and actually adapted to his talent's needs and now looks like they're primed for a lot of growth. There's plenty of examples companies loosing talents faster then they can bring in new ones, so I wont name them. It isn't that one model is better then the other, but what does the talent want to do and will the company actually come through on their end.

I've been a fan of VShojo and its talents since before VShojo was an idea. When the girls first announced they were joining a brand new vtuber company in late 2020, I was enamoured with their enthusiasm and passion for talent first content creation. It was such a contrast to Hololive English, which at the time was THE vtuber corpo to watch in the West. For me, that mattered far more than the heavily produced "idol" productions of Hololive. Currently, VShojo-while still relatively small but also growing-is in the perfect position to become the premier Western vtubing company. Canada's Phase Connect is also gaining in popularity and as a Canadian myself, I want PC to grow more. As it stands, the current "holy trinity" of Western vtuber corpos IMHO consists of Hololive English, VShojo, and Phase Connect.

Once again, great video! In my last response I talked about the rabbit hole and what to go with next. As much as I would love to selfishly say to do more Vshojo girl videos, I also recognize that growing your community is also important. So to be unbiased, if you want to do well numbers wise, Hololive is a great video topic. They are the most successful company and have the most love from the community of vtubers. I don’t know much about them though. All that said, if you want to do another video of Vshojo, I’d recommend Zentreya, Henya or Kson. The only thing I’d recommend is that you be respectful to Vtuber traditions. Past lives (characters they played in the past) can be sore subjects to certain vtubers and it’s a taboo to mention them blatantly. HOWEVER, it is okay to imply it. For example, Henya used to be another Vtuber called Pikamee. And If you were to mention her past, you can mention elements of it, talk about her general experiences and other things. Though, one final note on it. That’s only if you are, or are interested in being in the Vtuber arena. Since you’re outside that sphere, you could get away with saying their PL (past life) name. Its really up to you. Have a wonderful day! Side note: I know for sure that Kson doesn’t mind talking about her past life. She often jokes that her favorite Vtuber is her past life character 😂😂😂

I appreciate the heads up on how its a vtuber tradition to not discuss them, I still have a lot to learn lol so any feedback (positive or negative) is always welcome! @@jack_shippo So, just for a little extra context. I would normally say, Check out the big vtuber orgs like Nijisanji and Hololive, but Nijisanji... They umm, have been getting a lot of (deserved) hate recently. I won't go into the details, but TLDR: There's a negligent, toxic work envirionment within the company that was recently exposed when a HUGE vtuber left the company. She tried to take her own life and was eventually fired and there came a huge backlash from the entire vtuber community. So yeah, Nijisanji is a little too hot for now. On the point about Pikamee and past lives. Please, I implore you to watch a clip. It's called "Kuro watches a Henya clip that's not supposed to be watched... " by RabbitholeCh It's K9Kuro, coincidentally Both a new member of Vshojo and an EX member of Nijisanji... haha Anyway, in the clip Kuro finds himself doing an oopsy. Lastly, if you're interested in how Kuro deals with his OWN past life. Watch THIS clip first, THEN the Henya clip: "Kuro's KZbin Home Page keeps reminding him of something...." by the same channel. It'll help give you context to how past lives still HEAVILY affect the Vtuber's lives. Vtubers have complicated lives huh? haha

I see VShojo as a talent agency and some of the others as idols agencies. Just look at Amuse as a talent agency in Japan to know what I mean. They aren't perfect, but most of what they do when things aren't as great.. is because of financial pressure. For example One Ok Rock left and kept everything they do. And I think they also existed before they joined Amuse. These companies seem more like 'facilitators' than anything else.

@@jack_shippo well, think of record companies of the past as well: their are 2 opposite ends, some have a producer who came up with the concept, selected the people, music, etc. Spice Girls style. It's just to bad they had to lose Silver and Vei to learn how to things properly, they were not very good to their talents at first but some members were friends with Mel so they felt obligated to stay but after those two left the contracts and opportunities got better. Kson even confirmed this because she was gonna be the next to leave but they mede her a much better deal so she's stayed. Vtuber corporations are a cancer on the community and they would ultimately be unnecessary if Vtubers and their communities would just supoort each other instead of comparing and competing with one another.
@CarlFox8 ай бұрын
I don't think Kson ever had actual intentions to leave; she did say that, if a much better offer came along, she _could_ choose to leave VShojo with all her stuff intact, but that was hypothetical. Also, no business plan from any company ever fully survives contact with the realities of business. You take the good and bad as learning opportunities, which it seems they have. Nyanners and Vei leaving seemed to be strictly a business decision, especially in Nyan's case; SIlver seems to be the only one who actively burned her bridges on the way out. I could even see Nyanners come back at some point if the deal is right. (Speaking of drama, could all the 4Channers shut up about Nyan, please? She outgrew you lot, let her be.)
