Thanks for sharing the info! I had a Harley - Davidson year's ago, and rode it through my college year's and more in Las Vegas, NV. A few years ago one of these popped up on my local CL and I was intrigued by its distinctive features. This was an older model with chain drive I believe, but it did come with the front Dynamo. However, my garage was already full so I had to swipe past. In the years since I've set up a flat bar gravel bike and a flat bar road bike which serves a similar purpose as what this would have. Thanks for doing a video on this.

Did not expect to see the same bike as mine on here from the title of this video. Love my Spot Acme, mines a little older and has SRAM brakes though. Did the same thing with going tubeless even though I couldnt find info on it, it's been fine that way for two years. Biggest issue I've had is that the Alfine 11 leaks constantly. But more oil is easily added.

Had the privilege of riding a double GGucci-built Spot SS hardtail in the early 2000’s; still, one of the most balanced bikes I’ve ever ridden. Looked at the Spot Rallye more than once, but wasn’t moved. This model reminds me a lot of the Bombtrack Outlaw which, like this is a quiet giant for the serious grind-muters. Maybe a swept back Cinelli Pope style bar for the ultimate commu-steez?

I like it! I have 2010ish Trek Soho with a belt driven, 8spd Shimano Nexus hub that i rescued from a garbage pile. The biggest downside of it is the internal brakes. They "suggest" the bike to slow down. Hydraulic brakes would be a godsend.

The Alfine 11 is the issue, I've had a few problems with it: oil leaks, skipping under load. Cable tension needs to be very precise. Maybe this bike would do even better with an Alfine or Nexus 8 speed, prices could be even lower.

It's her Achiles Heel, unless the mechanic at the shop figures out how to service it and tune it right: it can be like a nightmare. @tedduepner873329 күн бұрын
Doesn't appear that the bike comes with lights tho. You'd have to buy those separately and install. Still, if that internal cable routing looks as good as it appears that's a huge win. I'm always paranoid about ripping out my dynamo cables. I personally wished they offered a single speed model. Looks like that could save 3 lbs off the bike.

It is an interesting bike. A good value too. I love that it would make a good low mainrtenance commuter and light gravel bike, and it has rear rack mounts. The type of practical bike that most people should be riding. More bikes should come equipped with internally geared hubs and dynamo lighting. I’m so picky though, I’d want to ditch the plastic fork and upgrade the internally geared hub to a Rohloff. That would make it less affordable but I guess no bike with a Rohloff hub added will end up being a low cost bike. Maybe I’d be okay with the Alfine 11-speed hub. I haven’t tried an 11-speed Alfine yet.
@jasonferrier3 ай бұрын
I’ve owned two Rohloff wheel sets and had on a few bikes and for most people they are complete overkill and a waste of money. The Alfine/Nexus hubs are a great value for the masses, which is what this bike seems to be going after. If it were going for top of the line, it would have the SONdelux hub and still be sold with lights.
