I don't think that effected the rankings at all because its an invitational and his losses were to light,shinymark and spargo probably got placed lower because of head to head score vs light and spargo but most he deserves is 1 placement up he is a bracket demon for many.

I'm happy for Marss on this years ranking. Also, same picks for most requested dlc and favorite game this year. I played through BG3 four times this year. Two solo playthroughs and two party playthroughs. My favorite food is skirt stake marinated with soy sauce, ginger, garlic, black bean paste, sesame sesame oil, and sherry wine, with grilled vegetables along with roasted sesame seeds on top of a bed of either white rice or udon noodles to soke up the marinade. I hope you all enjoyed my incessant food rambling.

I also thought they were more “ELO” based this season. Valuing head to heads over placings. I argued with one of the ratings calculators (statisticians) for a cool minute about why they needed to do exactly that to at very least “reset” the Japan bias from the Pre and inter-Covid Japan inflation era, when panda weighted their tournaments heavily to keep all of Japan relative to americas level in terms of ranking (back when they just weren’t as good). Not saying I changed their minds but I LIKE what they’ve done. TBH I think all rankings should be ELO and tournaments should just be to pay the bills and pick up / drop ELO to people who aren’t necessarily at your level…chess style. Run mandatory head to heads in best of for a world champ and then tourneys on the interim. I’m rambling. This is a nice change of pace.
