I wish I could help but I don’t know anything about Synthetic brushes. I have a moral issue with harming synthetic life forms. I like my bristles wild caught and humanly plucked. Cruelty to synthetics has to stop, and it takes each one of us to do our part.

@@seanstapelfeld I am being serious. Can you imagine being shaved, lying there naked and vulnerable. Knowing next you will be ground up, and cooked info some sythetic honing stone. It has to stop. We need to go all natural brushes and stones. I am starting a foundation, for only $5 a month, you can help save a synthetic. I will use those processed to purchase coticules and promote the use of humanly harvested natural stones.

My friend, try shaving with a traditional kamisori. You only need one right hand to shave. And it shaves just as precisely as a traditional straight razor. Best wishes and all the best. 🎉

@@kwasek1971 It’s funny you mention that my friend I just got a folding kamisori in the mail a few days back, I need to rehone it because although it has a good edge it seems like it’s mild because of use. So I need to research how I’m going to attack the honing on that 1, cheers my friend!

Must say I also like the natural bristle brushes including mixed boar/badger or horse hair. They may require conditioning, but I have one boar brush that is nearly 50 years old, and notwistanding field use, and still gives me workable lather. There are some great synthetics, Timeless (outperforms Yaqi for me) have a stellar range that work well. Might be a good birthday request. Agree with the traditional kamasori suggestion. Great vid bud.

Great shave Sean. I'm really loving playing around with convex edges, I haven't gone the route of finishing a razor on the 6' axis. My process is starting on the 6' foot diameter shaped stone, switching to the 25' stone and finishing on a flat stone. I am going to experiment with finishing on convexed stones shaped to 6' and 25'.
