Well this is something I can weigh in on as I taught in China for 9 years. The Chinese language and ancient culture are interesting and many everyday people were kind to me there, but the current Chinese government is horrific to its people and the world at large. Also most Chinese principals and deans were members of the Communist party and acted like little dictators There is no freedom of speech in China, yet somehow Chinese universities are ranked amongst the top in the world. I sometimes wonder if they paid off the people in charge of the rankings. The Communist Party is just out to perpetuate itself. The needs of its people are secondary. The American government should take a very tough stance against China. The Chinese politicians and bosses only respect strength.
