NP is a man of the people! Just lowered my video quality settings to get higher FPS and thought I was crazy when I was doing one of my regular truck train deliveries in Ontario. Thanks for this info I’ll definitely be capping my FPS going forward.

This is an interesting discovery, seems like the game is calculating the physics involved on each frame, and more frames per second means more physics per second.

​@@NProvince this type of bug is rather unfixable in a project as mature as Snowrunner. It would require a rewrite of the engine from scratch, which is rather impossible.

All my friends were praising Kenworth, like it's a God given truck and I haven't been able to run it empty on slight uphill in high gear, now I know why.

Games tying mechanics to FPS is an issue fromsoftware enjoyers are painfully aware of. This reminds me of when dark souls came to PC and there was a mandatory jump early in the game that people were furiously struggling with until we discovered that the jump kept you airborne for “X number of frames” The solution was to cap your fps at 30 when you needed to jump across gaps.

Thank you for the info provided! Helped a lot! I think this is why they hard capped the fps in MudRunner at 60 because of the mud physics. You can uncap it only with mods on that game. An interesting thing to see would be an recommendation from Devs (like a side note) that they recommend keeping the game at 60 fps for the best truck performance.

got a new GFX card the other day and i think this is what i was experiencing and didnt even know it. The excitement of a new GFX card had me going into the settings and dialing everything up to 11 and i was killing my margins in hard mode :) Thanks for this im gona load up the game and check this out, cheers.

Yup. This is exactly what happened to some older games like fallout series based on the gamebryo engine. The physics system is paced against the frame rate, so the higher the frame rate, the faster/stronger the physical interactions would be. I've been playing on 60fps since I've started playing this game and just yesterday unlocked it to see how it high my fps could go and boom, all trucks getting stuck in mud and scouts flying all over the road. Put a high range on the loadstar and have it run on some asphalt road with and without the fps limit while quickly going through low -high-auto gear setting. I was able to send it fly through the map after hitting the barrier at the the peak of the momentum boost 😂

Ya 30-60 is gonna be the spot where trucks behave right. Seening the Caps in game must be where the game is optimal

I bought the Boar the other day because I wanted a truck that had a higher high saddle for those more difficult semi trailer loads. I tested it on a hill with 4 metal beams and it acted like it was massively underpowered. I was like; it's not bottoming out, it's got the 5th most torque in the game, OHD tires, I'm in low with diff lock on, why can't it do this? It seems like you're showing me the exact problem I'm having. So I'm definitely gong to reduce the FPS to 60 and try again. Good find!

Ya this could be the reason. I would say just cap to 30-60 and just run it. Im gonna stay at 60 from now on

So if playing on coop game do all players set fps to max 60 or just the host? When playing on coop are you limited by host fps or can you set yours higher ? Be an interesting thing to test maybe?

I think so. I think its just now being found out about. I have had alot of folks complain that some trucks just cant pull. I wonder if their FPS was above optimal level for performance

I haven't had this problem, the one i keep having is it lagging and feeling and looking like I'm playing in slow motion. I think mine is just from it being a lower tier comp.

I believe its just due to high frame rates, lower frame rates should be fine

yeah this is what tends to happen when you have mechanics in your game that are so detailed you have to develop them yourself instead of using what the engine provides... I've had similar experiences with Forza Motorsport (the last new one) where the game actually runs great capped at 60, but runs like ass when uncapped at around 140...

Please, could you try it with 30 fps for a truck that you are used to stall in these situations? Why Am I asking? Because I play on consoles since the begining and on the old generation the game runs on 30 but in new it runs on 60fps and since I've started running the game on 60fps I've encountered situations like this that I was not used to. If the game is making the spin calculations based in FPS, this is huge.

30 & 60 are options in the menu so to my knowledge this game will run pretty much the same if the game itself is giving you an fps option. I think you’re safe here. Higher FPS is the issue. I would check your controllers throttle controller and make sure its generating 100% throttle

@@NProvince On consoles it's not possible to choose, the game will always run on 30 or 60 depending on the console generation. As you said the more fps it will probably increase the problem but If the game is really making the calculations using fps the problem will also happen from 30 to 60 but probabbly on other trucks that has less power. The PC version of dark souls had a similar problem while running on 60fps, the player equipment would deteriorate faster.

My guess is this has been a thing from the start. I think hardware has become pretty amazing since 2020 to push the games frames higher and high so now we can experience it this issue perhaps

Ya I think you should be safe with console. They usually can run from 30-60 which is good
