ChordsVERSE G Am7 D7 C G chorus..C D G Em C D G at the end of each verse Am7 D7 G at the end of each verse LYRICS Might be slightly different i tend to change a few words when get into it , Looking back on this life it's hard to understand ,how time just seems to fly when you are an older man whatever happened to all those dreams I had and all those crazy plans I never really got the chance to do, they just slipped right through my hands . Through my hands through my hands Looking back on all I've learned I still find it hard to tell , if there really is a heaven or if there really is a hell . It's an age old conversation that's been had since dawn began , but you just seem to spend more time on it when you're an older man , an older man an older man and this could be the last song, the final swan song, before the curtain call I hope I played my part well for I know so well there will be no encores , I often wonder what it is that we are all craving for, some kind of justification now our time is getting short , is it intelligence or arrogance that makes us say there must be more we can't accept this could be it, and it leaves us so unsure They say that wisdom comes with age but that's not always the case and you'd be a fool to judge a wise man just by the lines upon his face I know i've done some stupid things some things I can't forget and no time left to try to put them right is the one thing I regret , and this could be the last song, the final swan song, before the curtain call I hope I played my part well for I know so well there will be no encores ,

@priscillacelestino47633 жыл бұрын
Hey Katie. We don't know each other and we're probably way too many miles away, but I just wanted to tell you this. Reaching these age milestones is always scary. I'm 21, just a little older than you. But if I could go back 3 years I would say to myself: hey, girl, don't waste your time on something that will not matter some months or years from now. Also, please, pleeeeease, tell people how you feel. It could be seeking therapy if you need, or actually saying how appreciative you are of a friend, or just say you're in love with that person, shoot your shot. I once read "if you don't tell that person you love them before they go, they'll never know they could have a reason to stay". And that goes for every aspect of life. Going back to the age thing, you'll be scared of the 30's in the near future. It's just another milestone. Better yourself, take good care of people around you, exercise, work on soft skills not only towards a degree, maybe start a business if you want. And also relax, go to a karaoke, travel. Make memories on your own and with your friends and family too. And in case you want a long-distance friend, count me in 😊 Much love from Brazil I hope you get everything you want in life

Thank you for this. I'm quiet old. I've lived a long life. And I'm not afraid of dying anymore because I've done it all. All that I wanted to do. To all the young children or adults out there- do everything you want to do. Because one day you could die, and you want to look back in happiness, not in regret. Make memories, fall in love, get a dog, learn some music, be in a film, go to a carnival, sing a song, write a story, bake a cake, eat a pretzel, have a bonfire, walk down a cobblestone street- it's never too late to enjoy the small things in life and live the best you can. Take care of him, hug him, cherish him, love him. I missed my grandpa and I longed to hug him. Everytime I thought of him, I would cry. I lost him when I was only 13 years old, I'm his first ever grandchild. He's more of a father to me than my own dad because my grandpa never left me alone since I was just a baby. I missed his humor, his laughter, him driving, him watching boxing, him a fan of technologies and him being my grandpa although he was mad sometimes because of our mistakes. He died a bit young, 68. I had a time around October 2021 where existing hit me all at once and I was afraid of time itself and my futile existence within its throes, but after some time, thought, and comfort from God (because I am a Christian and it did help me through), I am at a point where I’m content to exist. And if I blink, and suddenly I’ve jumped from 18 to 40, that’ll be ok, as long as I have good memories of the time, and have good memories of those I love. As long as I can love, and know I’ve loved (because God is love), time and death won’t scare me. Loving is living, at least to me. So if I’ve loved, then by golly have I lived.

Don't worry. It's not as bad as it seems :) I'll be 26 in 15 days. Last October I moved out to an apartment on my own. First time living alone and paying for my own stuff. Independent life has been good so far. It can indeed get hard sometimes but it is totally manageable. And yeah sometimes I don't feel like being an adult at all. But then I remember what I realized a couple of years ago: no adult really knows for sure what they're doing lol. They're literally just making it up as they go. Trying to do what they think it's the best. So I relax. I stop being so hard on myself and carry on however I see fit in the moment. Anything you chose is fine. Just own up to your actions, don't do harm and you will be fine. Enjoy your current life stage. Enjoy the present and the now. Everything will be ok :) Hope you, and anyone who read all this lol, have a good one :)

I moved out at 19 out of necessity. Its been 7 months since ive been on my own. Keep your good friends close, dont get in too much trouble, if you have family then dont stray too far, learn to cook and clean for yourself. The worst is just when you've made mistakes, but theyve hurt the only ones you love enough to talk to. You can sit and wallow, or go ahead and make your dinner and cry some othertime. But if you dont fuck up, look forward to all the memories you're gonna make with friends and family. You dont always have to act like an adult, im just a kid that can build stuff

My theory is that perception of time is (time observed passing)/(total lifetime). So a year at 9 years old is 11% of your life! But at 50, a year is just 2%. It's a sliver. That's how the mind wraps itself around time passing.

@@walkdeep Maybe the beauty? You know, at the end of the day, if today could be your last, spend some time being all you want to be. Even if it's just a few minutes, it at least ensures that at least for today, you are experiencing what you wish to live a long life to experience. In this reality, things that we focus on become the reality. So focus on making each day the best it can be and leave the rest up to whatever power it is that holds your life in it's hands.

@@mankind8807 You just proved your own toxicity with that comment lmaoo!! @mankind88073 жыл бұрын
@@pennyroyalT Ahhh you naive people, you amuse me, I care not for your dubious definitions of what art is, what you don't understand is that most times when people write a song or create art it is to convey a message or express a thought, most people don't do this "pseudo-profound" nonsense you are describing, or maybe they do, it's called mordern art, it sucks, and absolutely means nothing. You think this is just a sad song? Do you even bother to listen to the words he is saying, perhaps you cannot make the connection because you have absolutely no idea what aging is like, it's not a flowers and dandies process, with every day that passes you feel the end edging ever closer, you are also confronted with your own meaning and all the questions and thoughts you had tried to avoid in your youth, but this time you can't escape them as your body is slowly crumbling under its own weight in a wheel chair, you become a mind trapped in a body, also these will be your loneliest days of your life, majority of the elderly are just thrown into senior homes and left to rot there, their relatives are too busy with life that at most they only ever see their elderly once in a month, trust me I have worked at these places before, I have talked with these people, you have no idea what it's like and that's why you fail to understand what this song is about, it is not art for you to interpret however you like, he is expressing his thoughts and questions as he reflects on the meaning of his life and the end of it that is to come.
