You can't go wrong with Estee Lauder products! I loved their Double Wear, Water Fresh foundation until they discontinued it. They came out with the Hydra Rescue Moisturizing Foundation to replace it and that is my new favorite! So natural. Thanks for the review, will check it out.

I’m going to have to try this. Thank you. I’ve used EL foundations since my late teens and my skin has always loved it and I am often complimented I don’t look my age - well past 50. I am dry and sensitive to products and scent and I’ve tried Chanel, Dior, LaMer among others and I still reach for my EL Re-nutriv over them most of the the time. Recently decided to quit trying other brands because of it.

The Estée Lauder sheer foundation sounds EXACTLY like the Morphe 2 foundation..... it’s just fantastic and I was honestly shocked how it was absolutely skin like, seamless and wonderfully sheer! I could wear it easily with just using my hands/fingers.

I just got the samples for this foundation along with the new Skin tint dropper and Futurist Hydra Rescue one. I hated the tint, loved the Hydra Rescue but wish it had less coverage and I am yet to try the Sheer one. Given that you prefer it over Mac Face and Body which is as well my holy grail right now, I have high hopes! Hope is like Mac but a tiny bit more flawless!

The Mac face and body radiance is the same formula as the old! I definitely wouldn’t consider it to be a traditional matte. Like I mentioned, I’d describe it as a natural finish. Not matte and not dewy! I have normal to dry skin and love it!

This one does not do that.

I was surprised by you describing the waterbased double-wear (nude) as heavy. It was my staple for a long time and I am a sheer/light coverage kind of girl, and I loved it. Your video actually made me take it out and give it a go again. :)

The look and claims of this foundation remind me a lot of the Fenty Eaze Drop tint. Even looking at the ingredients makes me think they will be very similar. Putting aside coverage, would you say they are comparable? Unfortunately, I don’t find serum-like foundations like the Fenty or the L’Oréal one to look good on me :(

I have the Fenty and while I do enjoy it, I don’t feel the formulas look the same or wear the same! The Fenty texture is totally different. The EL formula is much thinner and blends more seamlessly than the Fenty to me. In some ways I think the EL foundation could be considered a serum but really only for the thin texture. It’s not dewy or super emollient like a lot of serum foundation products!

It’s so funny you said eight years ago you would have never tried this out because the next video recommendation was a video of yours from 8 years ago! As a no foundation person this was what I was looking for 5 years when I got in to makeup. Got all those heavy full coverage foundations which I absolutely hated. I don’t like not looking like myself while wearing makeup and stopped using foundation, concealer etc. This is perfect for when I do want a bit more coverage. Thanks for the review!

THIS is so great!! I HATE the OG dbl wear. it cakes, creases, turns orange & looks horrible on me. I DID like the nude cover one that they discontinued & the light which they discontinued. I like the MAC but the GOOD formula has been discontinued. THIS will be my new go to if it works as you say!! I like some coverage but not the heavy thick stuff & I would love the longevity!! I agree, this product is beautiful. Looks so natural and not like you have much if any product on your skin. I like that it is buildable if you want to wear it that way, but you pretty much aren't going to get above a light coverage from it. Which in my opinion is the whole premise of this product. And I find the staying power is great too.

Nordstrom and Dermstore still sell the Double Wear Light. They keep remaking it! I wonder what is the difference between the sheer and the light? The Light is too matte for me. OMGosh Shelbey, you're making me want to try this again. I bought two shades...one of them was 1N2 Ecru like you're wearing and 2N1. I believe 2N1 is what I used to wear in the regular DW. Neither color worked and the next neutral shade looks way too dark. I'm all about skin tints and have the complexion for it but I couldn't get it to look good. I'm using Fenty's skin tint, The Ordinary's serum tint, Tarte's skin tint and they all look better on me but I'd really like to try this one again. Looks perfect on you tho!

Shelbey, I think you would like shade 2N1, Desert Beige, in this, on yourself. It's not dark but a little warmer, though basically neutral but it would cause your face to be closer to looking like your tanned skin and even into winter I think that would look good on you. I hope you will try it. Also might provide a tiny bit more coverage with just one layer not sure but I think it might. Anyway, I just love it🤗
